I can't take another Direwolf death, I'm too much of a wuss. I've seen some theorize maybe Jon's dire wolf has to be sacrificed for him to be Azor Ahai like in the prophecy but seems to me that wouldn't work or isn't really the right goal of the task to bring Lightbringer to life. If we remember from the story of the first Azor Ahai, he tempered his sword in the blood of a lion he killed and it failed. I don't think the blood of an animal works. It didn't really work for Mirri Maz Duur sacrificing Drogo's war-horse to bring him back... I mean, it sort of did, but was mostly a failure and we don't even really know if she did that on purpose or not just like she lied to Dany in the first place and then her unborn son died in the process too. It was a betrayal so who really knows if the blood magic was just screwed up or MMD did that as part of her revenge. I suspect IF there really does have to be a sacrifice of life to resurrect Jon Snow, it would have to be a human life. I would have expected Shireen's sacrifice to be that. It would have at least made it 'worth it' in some way instead of pointless as it ended up being. Did they screw it up on the show or is that really how Martin intends it to go? But I'm clinging to the Beric Dondarrion resurrections like a plot life preserver man... if they went out of their way to show that a Red Priest brought that dude back to life over and over on the show, and even had Melisandre there to confirm it, that HAS to mean something. Why waste time on the BWB story at all if you've already eliminated Lady Stoneheart? It's pure deduction and mad speculation at this point, but Melisandre knows it can be done, she was shocked by Thoros of Myr's power ... she's more powerful than he is, she CAN do this with Jon. She has to believe. All her fanatical words thus far have been meaningless. Words are Wind.

So what's the theory behind Kit's comments. "I won't be in next season"
-Is he lying and he'll have a significant role in the last couple of seasons -Is he telling the truth and will return in Season 7? -Is he telling the truth and won't come back at all.
I hate the theory that Jon will be resurrected into another actor (not Kit), that would be horrible.

I hate the theory that Jon will be resurrected into another actor (not Kit), that would be horrible. Kit has a habit (as some of the actors do) of saying "I" when he's referring to his character Jon Snow, and not himself, the actor. I've watched so many interviews (and it's amusing) where the actor says something like "Yeah I am in a lot of trouble there and not sure where it's going..." or something similar. They clearly are referring to the character but they say it in first person because at that moment they are thinking like their character as if it's them. Plausible deniability is where you are able to make your words lend proof without actually being the literal truth. I think that's what they are trying for but Kit's not very good at it. Kit's trying to say "My character is done." or better yet " Jon Snow is done." (since the man who comes back may be Jon Targaryen) If he'd stick to that line that it's Jon Snow who is dead and gone forever, then plausible deniability would work. It's technically not a lie that way. But to the media, it gets confused as him talking about himself the actor. It's taken out of context.

That's my take but I am a little suspicious for a couple of reasons. #1 We know it's going to be hard for HBO to hide Kit returning to the show. #2 And from a marketing perspective, Kit is a huge draw. He's kind of the face of the franchise at this point. Will he not be at the premiere/events/etc? Just looking forward to see this unfold.

We won't have much longer to wait to find out if he was lying or not as shooting begins soooon! It won't take long for rabid fans in Belfast to catch him! UNLESS they film all of Kit's scenes in some secret location other than where everyone expects! Dun dun DUN! *insert dramatic gopher gif here*

Isn't the Castle Black set in the middle of bumfuck nowhere though? It might not be *that* hard to hide him. Stick a wig on those locks of his and no one will notice

So I'm sure there'll be plenty of Kit sightings during the shoot in spite of that. Really there's no hiding this too well.

HBO has the bucks to take Kit into hiding if they wanted to in order to keep it a secret. AMC paid big bucks to keep a character hidden during shooting of The Walking Dead finale last season complete with keeping him hidden in a bed and breakfast offsite and NDA contracts for the owners and other guests, the whole works. I'm sure HBO can do it too. They don't have a real great track record on keeping crap from being leaked by overenthusiastic extras, employees, caterers, etc etc. That's where the best info usually comes from. Konrad have you booked your flight to Belfast yet?

I have a big enough beard at the moment to be one and I have a lot of family in Northern Ireland (though I've never met any of them, of course). But I'd need to get a UK or EU work permit, I think, which I'm too lazy how to figure out how to get.

If ever there was a time to call in favors from distant family, now would be the time, haha! We need an inside source konrad! Do it for the team!

I think it would take quite a while to get all of the necessary permits and stuff for me to work there. And when I say family I mean around fifty second cousins who I've never met. The logistics would not be simple sorting it all out...but yeah, I'm stupid for not trying something yet. And there's likely only one more year of show left after this in which to figure it all out too...

She has to believe. All her fanatical words thus far have been meaningless. Words are Wind. This is semi-on topic, but I think based on Mirri's words when she shows Dany the lifeless husk of Drogo that her blood magic was entirely intentional and had the desired result. And from there it's not a big leap to think she never meant to help Dany in the first place since she never really thought Dany had saved her, so that the "treatment" she first gave Drogo was always designed to make him worse and get Dany to agree to blood magic.

As for Konrad appearing as an extra. As cool as that would be, I'd hate to watch a fellow poster get ripped apart by wild badgers or whatever they have in store for the poor extras of season 6.

Clearly Emilia did not go to the next level in order to obtain valuable information ... every woman knows this ... (and with a hottie like Kit, not like 'taking one for the team' would be a horrible thing! yum! )
