I don't care what Kit says, or what they do to infer he's dead, or if they lie. I don't care because he's obviously coming back and there's no reason to doubt it. Even my unsullied friends sent me texts right after the episode, verbatim: "obviously Melisandre is going to bring Jon back." "Hey, I need you to explain to me how Jon is coming back." GRRM has even said before Jon will learn his parentage.
It's paper thin at this point. IDGAF if he's spotted on set. It's already "spoiled." So what if Kit is spotted? It's all just about seeing when, where, and how Mel does it in the show. There's no mystery that needs to be kept secret here. The proverbial sea of cats is pouring out of the bag at this point.

Also few years ago there was GRRM interview with EW. EW: So why did you kill off Jon Snow? GRRM: Oh, so you think he's dead, do you?

Coming back. Fucking confirmed. Seriously though, very few people think he's dead for good. Even Unsullied (that actually pay attention, unlike some of my family members that are kind of dumb) think so.

I've watched quite a few reaction videos of unsullied. I always get a kick out of hearing their take on things since I don't have a lot of unsullied friends to talk about the show with. Most of them, even if they've not read the books are certain Melisandre is going to save Jon somehow so her arrival and all the resurrection stuff is definitely in their minds even without the details we got from the books. Many of them DO remember Beric Dondarrion and I was impressed by that - I was sure unsullied would have forgotten that by now.

I'm still miffed that they offed him too soon. He was supposed to be such a big influence and aid to Dany's return to Westeros in my mind. I couldn't wait for him to get back and the fact he had told Joffrey to shove it and quit his job become a focus of his service to the Dragon Queen. Dammit.

I'm not sure many people in the GA appreciate that massive "fuck you" Selmy delivered as much as the rest of us to.

I'm sure some of you smart friends here have already seen some of the Alt-Shift-X stuff on youtube but if you're like me and just getting introduced to him (thank Reddit!) - this guy is great! This is probably one of the most concise and simple explanations for Jon Snow's return including both his heritage (R+L=J) and his possible place in the prophecy of Azor Ahai.
Definitely worth 14 minutes of your time to watch and even some stuff I hadn't considered at all.

Probably one of the most telling visions Melisandre has had about Jon (from ADWD) is about his death. Of course, she does not interpret it correctly, or at least doesn't tell him that and it's easy to forget. I've been investigating her POV stuff (I told konrad this was his fault!) This is talked about in the guy's video as well and is a homerun for me: Now most people take notice of the man-->wolf-->man part and that's understandable since it obviously indicates Jon warging into Ghost which many people assume happens to Jon immediately upon his death. But lets take note of that line right before it as I think that's a really big clue... "His long face floated before her, limned in tongues of red and orange, appearing and disappearing again, a shadow half-seen behind a fluttering curtain."That's fire. Jon is surrounded in fire and seems to disappear and reappear to her. The fluttering curtain could be smoke, another part of the Azor Ahai prophecy. This is my theory: They build a funeral pyre for Jon the same as they have all the other Night's Watch men. They say the words "And now his Watch has ended" just the same, and when they light the pyre, Jon vanishes within the flames and seems to disappear and reappear ... he's warging into Ghost or maybe he already has when he died. Maybe Ghost shows up right then next to the pyre... and this is where things get weird. Melisandre has to do something that ties it all together. She's already killed Shireen ... a life must be paid with a death. Jon will be reborn from the flames just as Daenerys was...unburnt and very much alive again as he rises from the flames after re-entering his body from Ghost. The visions of everything that has been before and will come has been played out for him in his spirit-walk phase. He'll not only know who he will become, but where he is from. Fire cannot kill the dragon. Melisandre will have fulfilled her own prophecy and woke the dragon from stone. Shireen's blood and grayscale.

The show made it seem as though Lady's death had a hand in reawakening Bran in ep. 202...so I guess killing Ghost could do it. Ghost or Theon are the only potential sacrifices in the vicinity that I can think of at the moment.

I had a thought that maybe Davos burns Melisandre in retribution for her burning Shireen and THAT is the sacrifice, much as Dany burned Mirri Maz Duur, the OTHER Maegi (witch) who learned blood magic in Asshai.

Mel has to see Arya again, so I doubt that. And that was to hatch a literal dragon egg not a metaphorical dragon. I think since Shireen's already dead in the show that her death in TWOW won't be to raise Jon, or they'd have saved it until s6. That in ep. 509 disproved my previous thinking about when and why she'd be burned. So right now I'm leaning towards thinking it's Ghost's sacrifice that will raise him. But really it's probably something none of us can guess yet.

That in ep. 509 disproved my previous thinking about when and why she'd be burned. Melisandre has admitted herself on at least two occasions that her visions are often not correct and she interprets them differently than they actually happen. "My reading ... was false" and "I have made mistakes" ... The vision of waking a dragon from stone may not be literal. She may have suggested finding an egg to try it, but again, she's only interpreting her vision as a literal real life dragon with no proof at all it would work. I think it's a metaphorical dragon. Watch the video... he refers to a novella GRRM wrote about Aegon Targaryen called The Mystery Knight where "Daemon dreamed that a dragon would be born at whitewalls" ... that boy was Egg, becoming Prince Targaryen. He's pointing out that GRRM has actually used this play on words and metaphorical dragon stuff before already.

I saw the video but what I was saying is that I don't think the magic required to resurrect someone is the same that is required to hatch dragon eggs. I think both require the Targaryen words "Fire and Blood" but in rather different ways.
