If you like low budget, 80's sci-fi B movies, I would highly recommend checking out Lazer Team. Easily the second best of the two 2016 movies I've seen so far.

Anyone else feel like the Sundance Film Festival is going on without much fanfare this year? Normally I'm seeing a ton of articles on what to say, and all I'm seeing are a few on films to avoid.

Mark Kermode REALLY didn't like Dirty Grandpa. Apparently nobody did. Fake Jack was on Westeros with his IGN reviews asking what has happened to De Niro. I would have thought old age, and lack of roles would have been obvious but....

Well, it's kind of sad seeing a guy who once played Travis Bickle and Vito Corleone playing Dick Kelly in that... thing.

I'll never watch it so it doesn't bother me^ Saw Creed today, it was really good imo. Way better than I was expecting. second to the first Rocky for best in the franchise. Michael B Jordan is so good, it was cool seeing Wallace and Avon together

He's my favorite actor of all time, but I just don't watch most of the shit he has done in recent years. The last thing I liked him in was Silver Linings Playbook (or maybe The Family). It's unfortunate, but at his age he's not going to get a lot of good offers for leading roles.

But in between there aren't many roles for a guy his age. I don't blame him personally, I just was surprised by how upset Kermode seemed over this.

Watch his teardown of the Entourage film, it's absolutely great. I don't agree with a lot of his opinions, for example he's a huge Nolan fan, but he speaks very well and his deep knowledge of cinema comes through without being pretentious.

Mark Kermode REALLY didn't like Dirty Grandpa. Never heard of this guy but I like him already after watching this He's a very good reviewer. Back when Ebert was alive I'd keep up with both of their views voraciously and usually agree with one or the other week-by-week. There was never a week where I disagreed with both of them. With Ebert gone though everything's been thrown out of balance for me alas. Watch his teardown of the Entourage film, it's absolutely great. I don't agree with a lot of his opinions, for example he's a huge Nolan fan, but he speaks very well and his deep knowledge of cinema comes through without being pretentious. He's also a rockabilly standup bassist for what it's worth.

Just watched Mr. Nobody since I saw sati mentioned it in the who am I thread. Good movie, but definitely a weird one. Almost reminds me of something Terry Gilliam would make. Jared Leto was great in it.
