Watched Rushmore last night for the first time. Really shows how great a filmmaker Wes Anderson is, even when shooting in a much more naturalistic fashion he still has so much flair and invention. Plus it has his mark on it, he's kept his unique style from the beginning. My favorite Wes Anderson movie. And probably in my top 10.

I haven't seen them all, though.

Yikes with those Yoga Hosers reviews.
Yesterday, I watched Tangerines, Adult World, and World of Tomorrow. All on Netflix Instant, like them all.

I also just watched Rushmore for the first time, it was hilarious. Dirk and the Scottish kid were the best.

Now that you've seen Rushmore I recommend The Royal Tenenbaums. Those are my favorites, but honestly everything he's done is pretty good.
Haven't seen Fantastic Mr. Fox though.

It's always interesting seeing Owen Wilson listed as co-writer for this and the Royal Tenenbaums. He and Wes Anderson went to university together and it was Bottle Rocket which put them both on the map. So I always wonder what it would be like if Wilson co-wrote a movie with him again at some point. Funnily enough (or sadly enough really) the Darjeeling Limited, which Wilson had no hand in writing, seemed to prefigure (or reflect on in a way since it came out afterwards but was shot before) his suicide attempt in some ways.

Joseph Fiennes is going to play Michael Jackson? The only way that casting is going to fly with me is if Idris Elba plays Liz Taylor and Steven Yeun plays Marlon Brando. If you are going to do a movie based on a Vanity Fair story about Michael Jackson, Liz Taylor and Marlon Brando's rumored attempt to get out of NYC after 9/11 and cast Joseph Fiennes as MJ...then I don't see why Elba and Yeun cannot play Taylor and Brando. Forgot to add, Corey Feldman did a diss on MJ years ago because he was not included in the supposed escape attempt...hope he makes the movie too. That casting director must be high.
