Wow what a great episode. Mixed feelings on the way the time jump was executed, but i was glad it happened all the same.
The Rollo & Ragnar fight was everything i wanted it to be. The little in-between bits from the boat fighting were great, and the french King really grew this episode. Don't know what the shit was with the seer and why he was suffering with the viking people.
Mixed feelings on Ragnar's sons. I like about 3/4 of them, the one that looks like erlender... um just why haha but it might be too quick to judge. I expect Ragnar to go back to Wessex by the end of the season and it will end with his death. Bjorn will go with half the brothers to the Mediterranean. and next season they'll probably avenge Ragnar's death.
I wonder if Rollo will feature much in the second half. it would be nice to see him settle Normandy as the Duke. But i think they'd just make him King.

Yeah, it was a good episode all in all. Great fight scenes and no ridiculous attempts at intrigue except for the deaths of the pointless incest siblings, which hopefully puts an end to the soap opera of Paris. That said, the time jump the could've been better, as it was very awkward and came completely out of nowhere, and the ending was really abrupt, even making me think I downloaded a shitty torrent. They could've foreshadowed a bit more for what's gonna happen in the second half of the season. Good to know that Björn will likely spend most of it in the Mediterranean, doing his own thing and not just a part of the Great Heathen Army. Ivar's actor seems good enough to be a lead despite his awful haircut, and I think Ubba is the one with the haircut and beard similar to Björn's, if so he seems decent too, but I'm not sold on the others yet. They could also invest a bit more in aging make up. Aslaug and Helga haven't aged a day and still look in their early thirties when they are supposed to be nearing their sixties, I imagine. Björn alone must be in his mid thirties already. I think Ubbe was the one who looked like Brad Renfro, Hvitserk was the one who wanted to kill Ragnar, and Sigurd was the Erlender-looking one. I'm mostly just amused that the women never age, especially Aslaug who has birthed and raised 4 kids. Maybe that was part of Harbard's magic, but prob not bc I bet Lagertha will still look the same too. Would've been nice to see her, though. I was kinda surprised that Aslaug and Bjorn apparently still got along and ruled together after they've done so much to turn her into Cersei this season. Maybe she got somewhat less crazy and powerhungry after Ragnar left. "Bjorn, we have bad news about Siggy?" "What's a Siggy?" "Ah, never mind then." Agreed on the ageing thing. I wasn't really sold on the Paris thing, a mediocre ending to an awful storyline. Incest siblings were just ridiculous and the Emperor was such an inconsistent character I don't know what to think of him at this stage. Glad there was no Wessex. Although we'll inevitably be back next half of the season for Magnus and maybe Ragnar's death. Anyone know how long the break is?

Yeah so that was a fantastic episode, as jarring as the time jump was. Now I just have to figure which dude is supposed to be which kid.

The beardy one is Ubbe, Erlendur looking one is Sigurd, rapey one is Ivar, and the last one is Hvitserk.
I really didn't like this episode that much. The battle was fantastic, but the conclusion to Paris storyline was anticlimatic.
The time jump was weird, felt really inconsistent. Why is Aslaug still there? I would've expected for Björn to kill her.
The new ones come in September, right?
I hope Lagertha and Halfdan are alive.

The Paris storyline was just about Rollo being accepted by the french people and committing to the Christian faith. I think the ending was a bit abrupt, but now i've had time to think about it- it was actually good. Rollo's words at the end pretty much summed up his whole arc. I also liked Ragnar coming back and making that speech at the end, it got me all hype. I agree the time jump was weird, and that Auslaug shouldn't be ruling still.

I knew it. ragnar and floki have aged some but the women have elf skin or something. the difference is so . i hope lagertha lives into her 70s and they never bring in aging makeup.

I'm not sure why so many people are suprised by Aslaug still ruling after the jump. Bjorn isn't the type of man to kill his stepmother for power. And her son's are all around to protect her as well. We may not like it, but it makes sense she's still around.

bjorn doesn't have anything against her, but it looked like they were leading up to some sort of powergrab against ragnar and bjorn. she was very suddenly downright insane last week so it's a little jarring to see her more normal again after the time jump.

i think this must be the canadian promo. the user also has most of the deleted scenes from the international version.

So Ivar is gonna fight on a chariot of sorts, sound great. It looks like he's standing at 0:19, though. And Rollo is seen with Björn and Hvitserk, apparently on the same side, so he's back with them now? Ragnar looks ancient but Lagertha and Aslaug are still drinking from the fountain of youth.

I guess Harald's kingdom will be much bigger now. After all, he's the first King of Norway.
Do we know if Halfdan is alive?
