By the pricking of my thumbs...I managed to watch this early. *wipes away a tear* I feel a little broken inside, that was rough as hell

"Before you speak another word, I ask you to consider this: how valuable is your life? Do you hold it dear? Does your wife value your company? Do you favour growing old, to one day teach your ugly inbred children your grotesque manners? Lay hands on him, and it'll be your end." - Sir Malcolm Murray

Do you favour growing old, to one day teach your ugly inbred children your grotesque manners? Lay hands on him, and it'll be your end." - Sir Malcolm Murray That was awesome. He's come so far since season one. I liked in the first episode how he refused the offer of sex from the woman in Zanzibar, it was a nice callback to what we learned of his past (that he used to fuck the locals whenever he went to Africa) and showed his personal growth. And I also liked him realising that Africa isn't something to be proud of as a British citizen since, you know, we were turning it to shit. And my feels still hurt from episode 4 Because I realized I was wrong. One person does live there. Where it's cold and lonely all the time. So I tendered my resignation. I'll stay long enough to see you tomorrow. The last person you see before the surgery will be someone who loves you. *bawls like a baby*

The whole connection between Vanessa and our 'revived' turnkey will reunite at some point? That's one thing I like about this show, the way it manages to connect all of the characters to each other.

Just watched 3x04, what else does Eva Green have to do to be nominated for a Emmy?
Brilliant acting from both her and Rory Kinnear. These smaller more intimate episodes (Closer Than Sister's & Nightcomers) continue to be the strongest of the series imo.

I already think she deserves the win this year for season 2 but if next year she doesn't get it it's time to flip tables like Sir Malcom possessed I loved the voice work by Rory Kinnear too, he was essentially playing three characters in this episode. And damn, how does Eva Green make chanting nonesense so very impressive? (Side note: she didn't actually know the Verbis Diablo at this stage in the timeline, she doesn't see the Cut Wife until Mina has been taken. So presumably this is her minds' way of processing her rejection of Dracula and Lucifer). The episode overall felt like a play, it was so intimate and small scale, but it was no worse off for that.

Woah Penny Dreadful and Game of Thrones filmed in the same location. Ethan and Hecate riding through the desert did look a bit like the Dothraki Sea.

That last episode was fantastic. It ended on a fantastic cliffhanger though. Damn them!

Brian Cox as Jared Talbot was fantastic. Loved him and Sir Malcom, it was a nice contrast seeing how far Malcom had come in comparison to Jared's worldview (which is essentially Sir Malcom in season one). "I still have a child to save." Oooh, burn! Shots fired! Hecate summoning the snakes was also really cool. Oh and Inspector Rusk, he is so damned British I can't help loving him. I've never been more pleased by a cut-away scene than when Victor was about to put the electrified needle into Balfour's eye I was talking to a friend about this and was told Ferdinand Lyle is back next week. Brilliant

I've not watched yet, I'll see it on Tuesday. But a friend of mine from the US watches too and I saw a line from the episode on his FB: "Condemn me to the sand and dust, write often, and think of me only when you dance." Oh Lyle!

"This has to be the worst kidnapping in the annals of crime!" Victor is such a reprehensible bumbling idiot. Here's to Jekyll going full Hyde on him and tearing him limb from limb

2 hour finale (across two weeks I guess). Fuck yeah!ey are airing back to back next week! Holyshit no, the finale is next week! I guess most of you will be watching Snowbowl instead but meh, I'd rather see Dracula and his "great fertile bitch of evil" (omg, what a line Kaetenay) fuck shit up in London.

This thread is far too quiet. Do I need to crawl along the table and demand all the Dreadfuls rise up and go out and cut off the right hand of a "bad critic" to get this thread active?

I've slacked off on watching the episode this week. I'll probably get through it tomorrow, but I know the sooner I watch, the longer I have to wait for the next episode, and this series has been cliffhanger upon cliffhanger... You should catch up, it's probably been their strongest season this year content wise.

Glancing at a couple of reviews opinions have generally been positive. And yeah this episode ends on a helluva cliffhanger. Its the two-part finale next week and then the season is over. Very sad And still no renewal news, how disappointing. Also, my first comment and the reference in it wil make sense when you've watched the episode Edit: John Logan is such a good writer though, at least for this show. Dialogue is so rich, it's almost like dramatic readings of a book. And whenever you read interviews with the cast they are so respectful of Logan and say how involved they are in helping him craft their characters' story. Korzeniowski is absolutely great with the score too, it always perfectly matches the scene
