I have heard of it, but no idea what it's about. I'll check out the trailer, I guess. Also, Natalie looking fine as usual.

Finished the Crown. Overall a really good season with fine acting all around.
I just don't think that the final episode of the season should have been the final episode. I get that they wanted to have the Queen at a crossroads (new prime minister coming in), celebrating her 25th year as a Queen and what has she done but it just seems like they rushed through the season so they can get to Diana and Margaret Thatcher.
Nothing about Princess Anne's wedding or attempted kidnapping. The Queen pondering Grandmother-hood. Wouldn't Phillip's middle age malaise made more sense with the backdrop that his daughter was expecting (granted that would have come way after the moon landing)? Anne's kidnapping attempt? The juxtaposition that Anne could choose her husband but Charles couldn't choose Camilla? As good as the season was, I feel like it could have been enhanced by going over these things as well.

I'm still trying to finish this. I'm on episode 7 I believe, I'm having a rough time. It's just not holding my interest like it used to. I'm surprised Anne's kidnapping isn't part of the season, wasn't that a huge deal? Didn't she tell her said kidnappers that she was not "bloody likely" to get out of her car?

The current cast of The Crown still have a season to go, they need to leave them some juicy material!
Kinda hope they get to the present day and the News Group debacle/litigation.

I'm shocked Anne's kidnapping was not a part of this season. I believe it happened in 1974 and the season seems to wrap up around 1977-78-ish. But they also don't mention Anne marrying Mark Phillips either and they got married in 1973. Harold Wilson steps down as Prime Minister in 1976, Margaret's marriage really hits the skids then (although I believe she is not officially divorced until 1978) and by this point in the show Anne should have been married and the kidnapping should have happened. I did enjoy the season and I know the show's focus is on the Queen. The kids have never been much of a factor in the first two seasons, I feel like they had a tough time trying to integrate an adult Anne and Charles at the same time. I feel like they missed the boat with Anne, who could have been used as contrast with Charles (the freedom she had to choose her spouse versus Charles who did not have that freedom). Plus the actors playing Charles and Anne were very good.

Relieved to report that Witcher is actually really good! I’m enjoying it too! I feel like though that even with a passing memory of the third game, I’m struggling to pick up on some of what’s happening, so I don’t know if it’ll get much in the way of viewership of people who know nothing about it. Also the timelines are not clear from the get-go. There’s a lot of jumping around between episodes too which makes it twice as confusing. I know it’s getting a second season already but the real test will be if it gets a third. I really hope it does though.

And I didn’t even pick up on the different timelines till episode three, although it became more obvious with each episode. Finished episode 4 just now.

I finished the Mandalorian 10/10
Also the second season of Jack Ryan 8.5/10 (if you ignore reality it earns an 8.5, would have gotten a 10/10 if they showed a nearly naked John Krasinski like they did in season 1 but they did not...boo)
Just finished up episode 3 of Peaky Blinders (5th season). Earning a 9/10 at the halfway point.
On the list to watch: Yellowstone season 2, Dracula, The Witcher.

And then forget a third episode was ever made... The Witcher’s first episode was so bad and cringe worthy that i have no desire to watch any more

I enjoyed the Witcher but I think they really should have made the passage of time clearer. I understand the split timeline since they clearly wanted to tell the beginning of each character's story at the same time, but the jumps between episodes were very unclear and usually only explained by one throwaway line. They've released a timeline but really just a date and location in the corner would've be an improvement. Still I enjoyed it well enough, and I'm hopeful that now they've got all the characters where they need to be, the second season will be a lot more focused and stronger.

Dracula got progressively stupider with each episode. I was impressed with the time jump/plot twist tho.
Also that ending was horrible and didn’t make any sense.

The ending to episode two was really interesting and could have been brilliant. Sadly it was not and episode three was tripe. Sister Agatha though, i mean what a character. She was the heart of this show

I finished Watchmen today. Really fucking good, really fucking weird. As a self contained story, it was very strong. But it did assume the viewer knew the original story, which I’m sure most didn’t. And as someone who does know the original story, I still found myself a little lost.
HBO announced that a second season is not coming. Fair enough, this worked as a weird little miniseries. But if they’re smart, they would make a prequel miniseries/ movie telling the original graphic novel. In my opinion, Laurie and Adrien were the stand out characters of the show, both of whom were main characters in the original Watchmen, so I think going back and actually telling that story would be good.
And this show was critically acclaimed so I’m sure there’s some sort of incentive to do more with it, even if this particular chapter of the story has been closed (showrunner stepped down).
