One thing that fascinates me is that both Tobias Menzies and Josh O'Connor have a very smooth and soft way of speaking in the show. I admit I have no clue if that's how Prince Philip talks, but it is 100% the way Prince Charles speaks. It's almost uncanny. And yes, the way Olivia Coleman captures Claire Foy mannerisms and way of speaking makes you believe you're watching the same character, even though they look nothing alike. I wonder if I'll be able to feel anything but hate towards the character in seasons 5 & 6 when she is played by Umbridge herself I enjoyed the season, but it felt like they were mainly setting thing up for the next one, if that makes sense. Like they really wanted to get into the Thatcher era and the whole Charles/Camila/Diana fiasco, but couldn't make such a huge time jump between seasons so we got this one as a bit of filler. At least that's the feeling I got, with some exceptions like episode 3 which is easily the best of the season. One thing I did not like at all was the sudden tenderness towards Edward. Dude was a nazi sympathiser. He was an asshole. So don't give me that "the crown always finds a way to the right head" crap. Don't try to paint him as a misunderstood soul like Charles. Also don't paint Charles and Camila as poor lovers that were separated by the royal family. Don't try to sell me that crap just so I don't hate them in future seasons when Diana is introduced. She was a 19 year old child when she married Charles, who was 30. She had no clue what she was getting into, and he gave her zero emotional support to deal with all the changes and pressure. He didn't give a fuck about her.

When you are watching the Crown, try a little exercise. Wait for a scene where the Queen has a fairly lengthy dialogue, so you can get a proper listen. Now shut your eyes, listen to the speech and tell me that couldnt be Claire Foy? Episode 3, Aberfan, is just so heartbreaking. the Queen is a much less sympathetic person this season, much harder to like in spite of the privilege she represents. Whoever cast Princess Anne, stand up and take a bow I will do that. I have to say I loved that speech she made at the art gala where she was shading the guy that they really could do nothing about since it would have been embarrassment to MI-5. Husband watches the show because I do but I think he half pays attention to it because he was like, "DAMN GIRL." Tobias Menzies remains amazing as Phillip, by the way. Queenie girl also gives a pretty savage and brutal speech to Charles in episode 6 that had me all all like Damn girl, you cold. Agreed, Menzies is awesome. He gets an episode to shine in episode 7. While i didnt care for the episode he was fantastic, i suspect he is in serious Emmy contention for this One thing that fascinates me is that both Tobias Menzies and Josh O'Connor have a very smooth and soft way of speaking in the show. He didn't give a fuck about her. Just to clarify, Imelda Staunton’s casting is not yet comfirmed. In fact i don’t even know that a S5 and S6 renewal has been announced yet. Its some awesome casting if it works out though. Prince Andrew just appeared briefly in the episode i watched. Poor unfortunate child, portraying a literal sack of shit

stoneheartsrevenge I read that the casting news was not confirmed. It's a pity because she is a good fit and an amazing actress. She would be great for the role. I also got Edward confused with Andrew. I guess my brain went "which prince was the one who did something absolutely disgusting" and due to the recent interview Andrew was the one I remembered instead of Edward.

If anyone is interested in a great German TV show, I watched the first two seasons of Deutschland 83 on Amazon Prime over the last week and it was pretty amazing. It's an interesting mix between spy thriller, drama and comedy that takes place during the late phases of the Cold War in a still divided Germany, and it works really well. The characters and dialogue are great and the soundtrack uses tons of classic 80's music, which I absolute love.
Two seasons have already been released, the third and final season is currently in production. It's pretty good, you guys should watch it.
(Alex is so sweet <3)

Sharp Objects is excellent. If the style seems familiar it is because it is produced (i think produced, or maybe it was directed, not sure, i always confuse the two) by Jean Marc Valee of Big Little Lies. The cast of course are excellent, the story is as tight and the characters as fucked up as you expect from Gillian Flynn. If you are squeamish yeah its not going to be easy to watch but worth persevering kmo

I'm up to episode 4 of the Crown.
Aberfan episode was heartbreaking.
I thought Phillip's mother was an absolute badass and it was a great episode for Tobias Menzies.

And its not even his best (thats the moonlanding). How out of touch can you possibly be to deliver the interview Phillip did... the hilarity of the documentary when Margaret talks about the inanity of watching people watch tv and talk about it...we have a very popular show in the UK called Gogglebox hich is exactly that

I was cringing for him. Margaret was terrific in that documentary and she didn't realize she was actually seeing into the future. I like the Queen at the end saying that the documentary will never air again. I guess it's like the Star Wars Holiday Special of the royal family. Menzies is up for a Golden Globe for best actor in a drama, I hope he gets it.

That is really not the takeaway i had from this novel or tv show at all its a meme anyways I never would have guessed Amma was ripping girls teeth out. I want a season 2. I know its a meme. It just doesn’t seem very applicable to the very deep and insightful look into the complicated multi-generational relationship between the three women, the dysfunctional dynamics of the small town highly classist society and the causes, symptoms and day-to-day realities of so many issues, including but not limited to depression, alcoholism, self-harm/self-loathing, body horror, and of course Munchausens

I finished watching Euphoria on HBO.
This is definitely a show worth that accurately depicted into teen culture and teen's problems. Something that 13 Reasons Why wished it wanted to be, but failed miserably. The biggest strength from this that it doesn't dehumanize any teens who indulge into drugs and sell. Rather it explored their root that explains why they do these unhealthy habits and it's very believable. Even though I never experience this myself nor my high school wasn't like this, but many people on the internet said so, so I can buy into it.
Zendaya is fantastic and I loved that her acting is well-done and convincing compare to her other roles where it felt like she's stuck in his Disney phrase. Same with Jacob Elordi who was in that Kissing Booth mess. In fact I didn't even notice he was the same actor in that movie.
The cinematography and lighting helps make the show stands on its own, and the best part was the soundtrack. It's been such a long time where the copyright music fit into the series and I loved it.

I do quite like Dormer as an actress but she needs to realise that duckface is not an emotion
