**Everything I'm about to say is completely unfounded and has nothing to do with HBO or realistic possibilities...I'm just rambling because im bored
HEY GUYS! As Game of Thrones season 6 winds down to a close, I figured we could talk about the stories of Westeros as a whole, and which ones we could have a chance of seeing adapted by HBO. I'm unsure on what the latest rhetoric has been by HBO regarding spin offs and such, so I'm not saying to entertain these ideas as actual possibilities. I'm purely speculating on what I think good ASOIAF stories to film are and am inviting you all to do the same So with that being said, let's jump right in.
THE LONG NIGHT
This would be a very dark and interesting miniseries, and would have a lot of horror and suspense elements. The ancient and legendary battle between the White Walkers, the Children of the Forest, and the First Men would be amazing to see in live action. Storywise, it would probably be a more straightforward story of the First Men and the Children making an alliance to defeat the White Walkers, and show the Battle for the Dawn and the building of the Wall. It would be visually stunning, I'm sure, given HBO's special effects capabilities. And plus, it would tie into the main Game of Thrones story because everything that happens with the WWs and Jon Snow and all that is somehow tied to what happened 8000 years ago.
Audiences love the white walker sequences, and action scenes, which this story would both have in spades. It would be an interesting break from the complex, political storylines of Game of Thrones, and just depict straight supernatural war. So therefore, I think a miniseries depicting this War for the Dawn would be a great idea, and a huge hit with viewers.
AEGON'S CONQUEST
Another miniseries, this one would be the ultimate prequel to the Game of Thrones, as it essentially the start of the entire world that GoT depicts. Aegon, Rhaenys, and Visenya would be great iconic characters to bring to life, as would all the lords and ladies they contended with in the War of Conquest.
Dragon warfare has proven to be a big hit with audiences, and this is the original dragon war. Viewers would also probably be excited to see not one but two badass warrior Queens. Lastly, depending on how Daenerys's storyline continues, this could be an interesting parallel to the Mother of Dragon's conquest.
THE DANCE OF THE DRAGONS
A miniseries depicting the brutal war of succession between two siblings would feel right at home amongst Game of Thrones viewers. Rhaenyra and Aegon fighting for their father's crown is a great storyline, and one that deserves to be adapted. The Dragon warfare here would be as big and intense as it will ever be, which audiences have proven to be fond of. And yet again, the presence of a dragon riding badass queen would be very exciting to viewers. But in addition to the big fights, there's also a lot of intricate political maneuvering that viewers love.
SO, what do you guys think? I know all of this is extremely unlikely, but a boy can dream, right? Out of those three, I favor the Dance the best. Let me know your favorite ideas
