so HBO has been dropping hints, says a direct prequel is more likely than a more unrelated spinoff. so, it's looking like robert's rebellion if anything. i've come around to the idea. just give me lots of battles, lots of lyanna, and a lil bit of cersei and i'll be ok. I guess it makes sense. They already have a young Ned, Lyanna, and Arthur Dayne.I'm good with this... |

Your spin offs are good ideas, however the major issue is that some of these events are left shoruded and mostly untold because a lot of the interesting side stories during Robert's rebellion or the history behind the Long Night tie into key plot points in the series and could be things they wouldn't want to make because it would be potentially undermine the series as a whole to de-mystify these, even though they've already been told in the main plot.
Though the idea of spin offs are good, over exposure isn't always. And I get these spin offs hypothetically wouldn't be done till after the series is over, the risk over exposure exists regardless.
I'd love to see Dunk and Egg as its own series though, that'd be awesome.

We also have Rickard Stark, young Hodor... and I think getting Charles Dance back as Tywin might not be a bad idea. Plus we will get to see young Jaime, Cersei and Tyrion. The births of Robb and Jon. Young Catelyn, Lysa, Baelish, even younger Edmure. Hoster Tully would have to be cast. Young Benjen/Brandon Stark. Ashara Dayne. Probably young Hound and definitely the Mountain. I won't be surprised if it is Robert's Rebellion they are going with. Uhh.. you forgetting the main attraction? |
