Sansa is pissing me off. Why the fuck did she not at least give Jon a clue about the Vale army? she coming out there and smirking her ass off with army when she's the reason that the armies of the northern houses she got help from during the last few weeks are dead. No, that reason was because Ramsay's gambit with Rickon worked against Jon. If Jon had gone with the plan he, Davos and Tormund outlined, the one that he told Sansa he was going to do, most of those men would still be alive and the Knights of the Vale's arrival would have still turned the tide. Ramsay's bit of political theater and psychological warfare there was on-point and worked. So I don't blame Jon for succumbing to it. But it's his fault they didn't stick to the plan, not hers.

So my question is what ever happened with the Fletcher character that was almost certainly Wyman Manderly?

I hope the beautiful death poster goes to either rickon or wun wun instead of the dog food I'm betting there will be a more significant death than any of those three. Not in this episode, and there is a beautiful death poster per episode

One gentle giant held the door while another warrior giant opened one.

(but I totally get you guys and respect what you think about this ) Rickon's death was sad because we knew it was coming the minute Ramsay led him out and because it was meant for "show" from Ramsay more than anything. The actual boy himself, I have no connection to other than the memories (and gifs) we post about from way back in season 1 and 2 when he was a baby. It was just so hard to connect with the new teenager Rickon especially when he didn't even get to speak any lines. King Tommen's probably right and his voice is now deep/puberty etc. I felt immense sadness for Jon at that moment because that was the last shred of his prior self that died just then I think.

Who was that random kid that Ramsay kiled before the battle began? Why did Jon care so much, was that Satin?

OMG THE STARKS FINALLY WON AT SOMETHING!!! That was my initial reaction. Loved seeing those banners unfurling at Winterfell again! The battle scene was fantastic, but also very confusing. I was also starting to wonder if Jon had been blessed with some sort of additional magic making him impossible to kill, because seriously! Kit did a wonderful job in the battle scenes. I expected Rickon to die, but still that was hard to watch. Poor kid. I expected Ramsay to die as well, yet I think I actually enjoyed the scene of Jon beating the crap out of him more than I enjoyed watching his well-deserved death. I'm not sure why... Maybe because the beating seemed more realistic? (And graphic.) I mourned Wun Wun's passing, but I'm relieved to see Tormund and Davos live to see another day. Those two guys are fast becoming two of my favorite characters. Their conversation was really good. And Davos finding the stag in the snow put a lump in my throat. The Vale army swooping in to save the day happened just as I was expecting. I was torn between hating that LF has his hooks in Sansa again and loving seeing those damned Knights appear out of nowhere. PLEASE don't let this mean that Baelish wants Sansa's hand in marriage. I don't think I could stomach watching her get forced into another sham marriage. Maybe he just wants the Dreadfort? An unexpected treat: Chief Slave Trader (I don't remember his name) being dispatched so quickly by Grey Worm. I was a tad disappointed we didn't see Dany and the Iron Born's first introduction. All of a sudden Theon and Yara were standing before her, and I thought I had skipped over a scene. But the conversation was productive. It's satisfying to see more characters from opposite sides of Westeros finally meet.

I felt sad for Rickon. He's just a kid and he's Cat's baby boy. The last time Jon and Sansa saw him was when he was this small child fetching arrows after his big brothers shot them. That's depressing to see him grown up a little, then taken from them right away.

I really thought I had skipped a scene. It was a bit sudden.

I am guessing they had to cut some things out because the episode was already longer than normal so they fast forwarded it a bit, though seeing some CGI ships with Greyjoy sails coming in behind the master's ships would have been awesome at the very least. No matter, I loved the interactions between Tyrion, Theon, Yara ( ) and Daenerys so much it was easy to forgive the abrupt intro for them.
