I'd assume that Bran is not in terrible danger from the Whitewalkers, if indeed the marking will enable the Whitewalkers to cross the wall. Meera is. The Whitewalkers might try and capture Bran, but killing him right now would be stupid, and we know that they aren't stupid.
I might be wrong of course.

I think it's very likely that the Night King's mark will let the WW through the Wall, but if that's the case - why didn't they just some random wildlings years ago? Why didn't they grab Waymar Royce, Sam, or even Jon? I now think that Benjen has the mark, and that's the reason why he hasn't come back.

Has this been posted anywhere? I like when talking about the Kingsmoot how he simply says "this scene is better in the books". I really like the parallels he's showing for Littlefinger. I don't think that's something any of us here have discussed or speculated about. Why exactly does Littlefinger meet Sansa, Catelyn and Olenna all in brothels? Does he have some sort of weird complex that makes it difficult for him to meet women he respects (peers?) outside of the context of a place where women are used as objects? This is very interesting to me as no one's really ever unraveled Littlefinger that much. Most just despise him for face value but it's true he is a very complex character and key to so much of what's going on in the whole story. The brothel thing. I think that's part of his "fuck the world" theme and Alt-Shif-X highlights that here, from way back in Season 1 we got the clue!

I doubt it, since he's been away for so long. They already have a Lord Commander. And that guy can make fart noises better than Benjen. I have a FB friend that is friends with Ben Crompton. Said he's a really nice guy. It didn't though. He is the last Baratheon. Until we see him again / have a legit information that he is going to come back, I am going to think that Gendry's story ended. He went back to King's Landing. Maybe he drowned. Maybe the goldcloaks killed him. Anyway, I doubt we're ever going to see him again. I have to agree that I think Gendry's story is done, unless they bring him back and I don't know why they would. They got rid of all the Baratheons at this point and who would legitimize Gendry as one? If they did bring him back, it would be to kill him off probably as that seems to be the fate of secondary characters so far this season. @envie, good question about Littlefinger. Is it because he thinks by meeting them in brothels, it buys their silence? Remember how angry Ned got when Littlefinger said Catelyn was waiting for him in the brothel?

I think that's part of his "fuck the world" theme and Alt-Shif-X highlights that here, from way back in Season 1 we got the clue! That was my favorite part of the recap too. I believe that Petyr's character is shaped by envy and resentment stemming from not being "good enough" for his childhood sweetheart. I can even empathize with that pain. It must be really rough growing up with nobles, feeling a kinship with them, and then being told you're not like them, not highborn enough, especially when you know you're smarter than everyone else. And in addition to his birth, he was small and couldn't defend himself against Brandon. I also think it's very interesting that we have never seen Petyr himself engaged in any sexual activity, except that bizarre shit with Lysa that he was clearly not into and a couple weird Sansa smooches. He told Ros he was saving himself for Cat. Petyr has a very very strange relationship to sex and power and to women, especially those he can't have and the men who _can_ have them.

kingeomer I think you're right that meeting a respectable Lady in a brothel is a psychological ' buying silence' kind of thing - great guess! In all three situations, he was meeting these women to tell them secrets and try and keep them playing his game by revealing plans and making more strategical moves. A brothel is a taboo place for a noble lady to be, so perhaps that sets a tone that this is a "Secret" to be kept. Love this theme! @witchy Petyr very definitely has a huge envy complex and it has driven his entire life choices. He has worked hard to rise up the ranks (his chaos ladder) and prove-them-all attitude keeps him juggling plates like he does to try and out-maneuver the next on his list. It's definitely a "great game" to him - but what's his end goal? He's already very wealthy and has a lot of power ... so why does he keep going on like this now? I can only think that he's still desperately trying to get the "Catelyn" he never had. The scene with Sansa in the Molestown brothel was pretty key to showing a failure on his part to achieve that. If he wants Sansa as a substitute for Catelyn, he certainly fucked up big time leaving her with the Boltons. The producers say they meant for it to be a genuine mistake and that he had no knowledge of Ramsay's real evilness but I still have a hard time buying that. Partly because we knew in the books just how awful he was so it's hard for me to erase that knowledge for the show but partly because Littlefinger ALWAYS knows what's going on everywhere and suddenly there's this one thing he didn't know. I guess it's just the way they chose to finally have him screw up but it's a tough sell.

Oh wow, this is so amazing. The complexity of this one's really off the charts. Putting Wylas there instead of older Hodor, with older Hodor on the other side and warged eyes ... Gah! It really was Wylas in his full right mind that held the door. How horrific and sad.

I love the beautiful death posters, I forgot to look at them this season until now. Hodor's is by far the most depressiong.

"Wylas" is the boy - the one before this happened to him, I use Hodor to refer to what he became after it. By this artistic impression, it was the younger boy who faced the wights in his full right mind and did so willingly.

Wait, so you think Wylas the boy was controlling Hodor's body when he fought the wights?

Wow..this one just gave me chills. I think, while all of these have been good, this one has been the best.
