So, going off our spoiler addiction.... Will lll any of you have a peak at your favorite characters ultimate fate in TWOW? Will you jump ahead to see what happens to them or will you patiently wait to read there story as you read the book chapter by chapter. Im not going to lie there is a better than good chance I'll peak ahead to see what happens to my favorites. Sacraligious, I know!

I haven't yet, so I don't think I will for WoW. Although the temptation to go right to Dany and Jon is going to be strong.

I assume that's Stannis' first appearance of the book.

I haven't yet, so I don't think I will for WoW. Although the temptation to go right to Dany and Jon is going to be strong. You are stronger than me Nic. I don't think I can fight the temptation to just peak and make sure they're still alive. So, going off our spoiler addiction.... It really depends on how invested I am. For the most part I'll just read a book or watch a movie or TV series as is, without finding out anything. However, if I'm really invested I just need to prepare myself emotionally for what's coming. Like the Red Wedding still hurt, even though it had been spoiled for me (not my doing). It doesn't take away from the shock, I just like being prepared.

I think this will be the first book of ASOIAF I will read without knowing anything about it other than sample chapters. Because hopefully TWoW will be released next spring or summer, I will read before watching Season 6. Though, if the book is not released until 2017, I will spoil myself.
Tho, even if I skip Season 6, I will ask my friends and dad whether Stannis and Roose survive or not.

I have no idea, I give in to spoilers fairly easily. The only time I ever skipped ahead in the books was when Arya got hit with the ax in Storm of Swords. I had to flip forward to just make sure I saw her name again, then I went back.

Probably not. I'll be desperate to know if Sansa survives the book, but I wouldn't want to google because google would be dark and full of (other) spoilers, but then I wouldn't trust anyone I asked because of potential for trolling.

Good question I might not be able to resist at least flipping through the povs I need to clarify something, I will not be googleling anything because I don't want the whole story spoiled for me. What I'm panning on doing is flipping the pages towards the end to see what's happening to my favs.

Hmm, interesting. Since I will get the ebook, I'm going to just tap-tap-tap-tap quickly past the contents pages so I don't know the distribution of POVs I think. Pic I can't resist that though, I suspect I would jump straight ahead to Bran's first chapter. If I do that though I would probably end up spoiling other bits of the book for myself, so I'll try my best to read it in order.

Hmmm. I'd really have to think about that. I'd like to think I wouldn't skip ahead but I'm not sure. I think I skipped ahead for the Arya axe thing too but that might be it.
I don't think I will though. I remember I skipped ahead in the 5th Harry Potter book and saw Sirius died because some of the scene was in caps so of course I saw that first. Ruined the book for me, everything leading up to it I didn't care about because I knew what happened. Promised I wouldn't do it again. Dat Jaime/Brienne cliffhanger though...my will might not be strong enough for that one...

I don't know if I would skip ahead at all. I think at most I would look to see what happens with Jon in the beginning but I'm not sure if I would even do that.
I really hope that whenever it gets released that people won't post it all over twitter. If that happen I'll be so pissed.

I'm going to stay away from social media until I read the book. Like I said I don't mind peaking to make sure my favs are still alive at the end but I don't want the story to be spoiled completely.

ASOIAF 'made me' break my own rule about not skipping ahead. First time was when Bran was pushed out of the window, and I frantically turned pages until I saw the next Bran chapter. Then in Dance, kept skipping ahead, partly to avoid the Dany chapters [then had to go back and plow through them - man, they seemed to drag]. Often skipped ahead to Arya chapters. Then, after AFFC left Brienne and Pod literally "hanging", I ran out to the nearest book store and stood there leafing through Dance trying to find out what happened to Brienne. With TWOW, I'll probably skip to a Jon chapter first thing, but I think all of the POVs in it will be great. Dance really ended with lots of "Holy Shit" scenarios.
