It must have helped that you just re-watched season 5 so it was clear in your mind and you probably also have a really good memory. The Roose/Ramsay hung was just a great touch and nod to the Red Wedding. That's why sometimes I get annoyed at the people who just criticize the show just to criticize. Sure, there are things that I don't like omissions and additions I don't always agree with but we have to give them credit where it's due. I think we'll be seeing a lot of parallels and symbolism come to fruition in these later seasons where the story is resolving itself. You make a very good point here. I never caught the call back between Melisandre washing Jon's body and Arya washing bodies in the House of Black and White...plus the call back to the Red Wedding with Roose's death and Bran and Bloodraven standing where Ned&Catelyn were in Episode 1 watching the kids practice. This season they've done well with the call backs (Sansa and Brienne & Brienne and Catelyn in the season premiere). I agree...there are some things worth criticizing about the show but it's also important to remember there are things they do well and they should get the credit for that. You know what? This give me an idea, why don't we make a thread outlining the instances of symbolism and parallels we've seen so far and those that are yet to come for season 6? What do you guys think?

Love the idea! It will be kind of like your Jon/Dany thread but broader.

^ Does anybody know if featurettes like that are on HBOGo as well? Yup if you click on "Home", it's also listed under extras. It's called "Game of Thrones: Season 6 Game Revealed: Episodes 51 & 52." And somehow it's on YouTube: Great Behind the Scenes video. It's nice to see HBO putting more effort in these featurettes. It makes you realize once again the impressive hard working behind every second of this show. I'm pretty sure that no other show in the history of TV has had the huge amount of talent (in all creative departments) that this show have. It's like a well oiled machine at this point. I really hope HBO won't dismantle it after the show is over.

Tormund turns around like a cowboy, thumbs in his pockets. I half expected to see him hawk something into a spittoon on his way out. He looked so disgusted at Mel. I was like, well, what the fuck are YOU doing, Tormund? I don't see you waking the dead. She did try to burn his king alive, so I can see why they wouldn't be friends yet.

SNOWBOWL! I can't believe so many people voted for it, I thought it would be just me and a couple other dudes, especially considering that we had to write it in and not simply check a box! And no sign of the stupid "bastardbowl" name

It's funny that most people want Olly to die a slow death. Kill the child! Slowly!

28.4% want Olly to have a chance at redemption? Faith in humanity comes crashing down around me!

Olly, forgotten and trapped in the ice cells, is the first victim when the White Walkers attack the Wall. Later in the season Jon Snow will triumphantly kill UnOlly. The Academy of Television Arts & Sciences creates a special Emmy to honor this scene.

Lol. Not nearly lazy and hilarious than the one with "King Robert Baratheon murdered by a pig."

I just re-watched the episode for the third time and I think in the end, my favourite thing about it was the fact that we saw Lyanna for the first time. I love that they showed her riding a horse too, in the books, they often talk about how much Lyanna loved horse riding and how good she was at it (I think someone even compared her to a centaur at some point), so that was a really nice touch. This time, I actually teared up a little bit during that scene, there's something about this character that I really love and it was so amazing to see her for the first time.
Super pumped for the Tower of Joy, and I hope we get to see the entire thing, not just the battle.
