Those are awesome. Never ceases to amaze me the amount of work y'all put into those gif sets. I love the parallels and even if they don't all end up being the dragon riders, they're at least part of the big "Dream Team" that's going to defeat winter somehow along with Sansa, Bran and hopefully Davos as someone's hand since he's the only level-headed older one left these days, the rest are dropping like flies. Guys, only 3 days until I cry for days on end because I get to see the saddest scene ever, the scene I've been imagining in my head since 2001 or 2003 or whenever I first read AGoT. I know... this is a really big one. I've actually been keeping my hype really on the down-low because I'm almost afraid to hope for too much and then be disappointed. Everything we've seen from the trailers and photos looks like it's going to be awesome though so I really hope all these years of waiting really pay off big for this one.

This is awesome! I wondered if anyone would catch the parallels between the body washing scenes. The irony is that Arya washed bodies that were tributes to the God of Death, whereas Melisandre washed Jon's body as tribute to the Lord of Light. Dark and Light parallels ... very cool.

Of course the best part of the video is this smile. I finally got some time today to watch the behind-the-scenes extra documentary and it's awesome! Better than past seasons. They seem to realize now how much fans love this stuff and are putting more effort into showing how they make the scenes. Episode 6x02 had a massive amount of tough work to do with all of those special effects, wow... Wun Wun and the wall scene, Jon's resurrection, Balon and Euron on the bridge, Tyrion with the dragons. It's amazing how much they managed to fit into just one episode! It's one of my all time favorites by far. So many good scenes.

People talk a lot of shit about D&D, and they do deserve it sometimes, but they don't get enough credit for how well they have been able to translate the symbolic nature of ASOIAF onto television. It's so hard to translate the nuances of the written word onto the visual medium without giving away the whole story and they have been able to do this with key characters and elements of the story. There are a lot of people who don't pick up on these things which goes to show how subtle they have been about it. I talk a lot about the parallels with Dany and Jon and a lot of people fight me on this but they are there, clear as day in my opinion you just have to really look at it. This particular peace is really subtle, i didn't notice it but now that it has been pointed out to me it seems to obvious.

This one in particular stood out to me and was the first thing I thought of when Melisandre started washing Jon's blood away - how similar it reminded me of Arya washing the corpses in the House of Black and White. I agree they are very good at subtle visual imagery and there have been quite a few instances of perfect symmetry ... most recently another example was how Ramsay/Roose murder played out exactly like Roose/Robb did in the Red Wedding. That was clearly intentional and well choreographed.

Tormund turns around like a cowboy, thumbs in his pockets. I half expected to see him hawk something into a spittoon on his way out.

The Roose/Ramsay hung was just a great touch and nod to the Red Wedding. That's why sometimes I get annoyed at the people who just criticize the show just to criticize. Sure, there are things that I don't like omissions and additions I don't always agree with but we have to give them credit where it's due. I think we'll be seeing a lot of parallels and symbolism come to fruition in these later seasons where the story is resolving itself.

I think we'll be seeing a lot of parallels and symbolism come to fruition in these later seasons where the story is resolving itself. You make a very good point here. I never caught the call back between Melisandre washing Jon's body and Arya washing bodies in the House of Black and White...plus the call back to the Red Wedding with Roose's death and Bran and Bloodraven standing where Ned&Catelyn were in Episode 1 watching the kids practice. This season they've done well with the call backs (Sansa and Brienne & Brienne and Catelyn in the season premiere). I agree...there are some things worth criticizing about the show but it's also important to remember there are things they do well and they should get the credit for that.
