So how did Obara and Nym get onto Trystane's ship? Was it the same ship Jaime was? If so, how did they get in when they were on the pier as the ship sailed away? Or did Trystane sail to KL on a different ship some hours after Jaime left? Was Trystane's ship even in KL already or was that the Dornish coast still? Someone help me It was the same ship. I'm assuming Trystane stayed behind out of respect for Myrcella's death while Jaime brought her body to the Red Keep. I assume Obara and Nym took their own boat following and just boarded while Jaime's ship was docked.

Someone help me I think it was the same boat, on the Blackwater. They must have snuck on after it sailed. Guessing Jaime took Myrcella's corpse on that small boat and Tryst waited on the main ship. I wonder where Bronn is though?

I also liked the Wall, Davod, Edd and the guys watching out for Jon. I do wonder though why are they guarding his body, wouldn't the Nights Watch also want to burn Jon? The best part of the Wall was Mel, seeing her so defeated and lost, it gives her a nice dimension. My take on it was that they initially moved Jon into Davos' room because they didn't just want to leave it lying around. Disrespectful. Then their thoughts turned to what happens next between themselves and Jon's killers. It didn't seem that they were protecting Jon's body, so much as stuck in the room with jon's body while figuring out what to do next. The scenes around Jon's body were similar to scenes around Renly's body or Tywin's body. The people who liked Jon want to see his body treated with respect, and they're unhappy that he's dead, but their plans revolved around the living. Other thoughts: i thought the burning of the Mereenese fleet was interesting. What the show giveth, the show taketh away. Does that imply that at one point the show was going to skip Euron, but then he was written back in? I was surprised that Brienne and Sansa reunited. Brienne almost never gets anything that she wants. And Theon seemed to have a little swagger back after the sword fight. Those 4 seem so hopeful, I'm scared. i liked that the show kept up the bit of Dany not understanding the Dothraki half as well as she thinks she does. She played her cards well refusing to talk until she was in front of the Khal. And it wasn't insane that she thought the Dothraki would know about the dragons - she is famous and the dragons are a huge deal. Also, surely the Dothraki have come across charred ram skeletons. But Dany had forgotten about the khaleesi retirement plan.

Fucking Dorne, man. Everything in the episode was great except for that. Loved Davos. Dany getting to pull a "fuck you, I speak your language" again is always welcome. Ghost made me SO sad. As did Brienne's oath. I loved Pod helping Sansa too. Brienne is how you do a BA woman, fuck the Sham Snakes. Obliterating 100 pages of Dorne in 1 minute. +1 for "Sham Snakes" I love you. haha. Why'd they have to ruin an otherwise great premiere with that shit?

Well, neither of them are getting a seat on the small council. But maybe one infiltrates the Faith.

I wouldn't roam around Meereen alone when I could have a squad of Unsullied with me.

I can't believe Obara put a spear through that pretty face. That was uncalled for.

So as a book reader I don't remember anything about Mel's age, tho it all makes sense. I mean we are off-book in that part of the story now, but can't remember if GRRM set it up? It makes (more) sense that Mel would know the bigger game of a war with the Others. The books quite heavily imply she is glamoured and/or not strictly speaking alive Have watched the D&D commentary, they say George told them that Mel was quite ancient.

If this was all pre-planned with the Dornish coup (considering the guards looked like they were involved I'd say it was), the men on the boat may have been involved, in all likelihood there would have been a boat waiting for the Sand Snakes to be taken to the boat. As the boat was moored, they would have had time to catch up with it.
SO, at Castle Black, they aren't actually protecting Jon's body. They are hiding from Thorne. That makes more sense. I'm assuming that they are in some sort of apartment and Mel has been allowed to use the bedroom.
Ser Davos did look confused at what was in the snow. I shall re-watch as soon as it is available on catch-up.
The worst part for me was Daario and Jorah. I used to like Ser Jorah, but he just annoys me now. Also I'm probably one of the few who does not have the hots for Daario.

I thought it was a pretty good premiere, picking up with biggest stuff from last year. I think Sansa and Theon was my favorite part of the episode, Sansa accepting Brienne's oath made me so happy. I was not expecting that in Dorne at all, I was assuming Ellaria was going to be killed and they were going to go with the stuff from the end of the last book but now I have no idea what they are going to do with that. I felt terrible for Cersei. Seeing her so happy and running to greet Myrcella only to be crushed by the news of her death was heartbeaking. Melisandre being old was not surprising to me at all, it's been hinted quite a bit in the books.
With Dany's ships being burned we now have a reason for them to send Yara (plus whoever else) to Essos like we are speculating based off the trailer.
Oh yeah, I knew it was going to happen but every time Dany pretends not to understand people only to turn around and spit fire at them is so wonderful haha.

The only thing I could think was "well at least he didn't feel a thing and that was merciful, now can we fucking move on because I feel like you're poking ME in the eye with your fucking spear you terrible little beast!"

A quibble: I thought the interaction between the twins felt a little weak tonight. I'm not sure if it was the writing or if they've just gone through too much grief to have a fresh approach to it anymore. It might seem better on a second viewing when I'm less amped and can better appreciate subtleties.

Yeah that's a favorite trick of hers, to listen and then respond haha... she's awesome! It was definitely curious and foreshadowing that they burned Dany's ships in Meereen. I think you're right this will set up a reason for Yara and others with ships to come help. I guess I can put away my long lost hopes for Aurane Waters to ever make it into the show. Alas... the Velaryons will have to wait for the books!
