I know it's a ways off and there's still a lot of stuff that has to happen, but how do you envision the final scene of the show?

George said something about the wind blowing across the cemetery, yeah? I think it's gonna be something like that, a character we known from season 1 - perhaps Sansa or Tyrion paying respects to those who fell in the war

I'm one for sentimental endings.

I would love the final shot to be of Daenerys sitting on her throne. But ofc she'll probably die at the end. I think the epilogue, in the books at least, will be told from Bran's POV, living life in his tree, keeping an eye on everyone. Although let's be honest the final scene will probably be St Tyrion sobbing over everyone who died.

So I think Jon sits on the Throne... And thus, George will have written the definitive "How to ruin your story" guide The only way that ending could be saved would be Sansa leading an independent North, but I doubt that will happen either since in-story she has too much vagina

Haha I agree, I just think it will probably be Rickon. And if not him, Bran. Although I would love Bran to stay in his tree just because that'd be fucking cool, but I guess he could move to the Godswood in Winterfell somehow. I also kind of like the idea of Rickon amounting to nothing. Not only because he's been 100% irrelevant so far (well, maybe not since ADWD, but before that he was), and I really like the idea of his direwolf's name foreshadowing, or indicating, his irrelevance. Plus, let's be honest, it would suck if Winterfell in the end went to someone who has been either too young to do anything of note or absent for like 80% of the story. EDIT: I just PRAY it's not Jon. He can have the Iron Throne if he wants, just not Winterfell.

The only thing I truly want is for the remaining Starks to reunite in the end but I suspect that probably won't happen

So from Variety April 15 2015 Not sure what this means?
Variety: How many more seasons do you see this going?
Benioff: We’ve got a very definitive idea of how much longer it is, and we’re getting there. We’ve just started writing episodes for season six. I think we’re heading into the home stretch. Hopefully, we’ll have a clear answer soon.
We could go another four years — and we could come up with good stories — but the one thing that really got us excited when we pitched this to HBO was that this isn’t just a regular series. It’s a real story with a beginning, a middle and an end.
We know what the end is, and we’re barreling toward it. So the idea that we’re going to try and stretch it out by an extra couple years just because we’re all having a good time doing it and people are making money off it just feels like it would be a

I think that's them saying, in a roundabout way, "still 7 seasons, guys. Maybe extending the last one, we'll see what happens".

The final shot will be from the Red Keep where Stannis sits on the Iron Throne and Davos stands next to him! Not gonna happen, we'll probably lose the Iron throne, Stannis and Davos. Tell me guys how could Jon abandon his vows? Bran will most likely remain as a tree. Tyrion and/or Sansa together strolling through the cemetery would be amazing.. or then we'll just see dark days and white walkers celebrating their victory.

Well, they go through all kinds of shit.
Tyrion, a lord from the Westerlands, becomes a slave. Mind that. He's a noble by birth and learns the chores.
Sansa, a lady from the North, is "forced" by her uncle to go under the guise of a bastard. She's a noble woman after all.
I think that neither Dany nor Stannis will sit the IT for long.
You have to serve first, if you want to rule.

Very true. Tyrion being GRRM's favorite character also helps.

I think Dany and Stannis are both goners - Dany cannot have children and Shireen will probably die So I think Jon sits on the Throne... I think that at the ends of ADWD, we see that Dany can have children and I would bet that she will have a child by the end. Her miscarries in the Dothraki has familiar themes with her miscarriage at the end of AGOT. In both she suffered a fever and in both she forgot the name of her child in favor of her dragons. She forgot Rhaego when she woke up the first two times from her fevered dream and asked for a dragon egg and then in the Dothraki sea she forgot Hazzeah's name but remembered she's the Mother of Dragons. Dany's character does all in threes. she'll marry again and she'll have another child, this time alive, IMHO. Whether she survives at the end, well, that's a different story.

Very true. Tyrion being GRRM's favorite character also helps. Maybe. It begins with that shadow in the courtyard. (IMO.)
