Nice one. I like that. For me, it's Tyrion and Sansa. (Both of them my two favorite characters.) I have a feeling that they're the 2 characters who are most likely to survive this mess. You're at lot more optimistic than I am

I imagine that the final scenes will be something along the lines of "spring is coming, the country is getting better". A bit like this, maybe. And we'll see the survivors in them, of course (most likely Sansa and Bran, I'm uncertain about the rest). As for who lives, who dies, I'm starting to find it more and more likely that Tyrion will die. I don't think that being GRRM's favorite character protects him, and I don't see a place for him in post-war Westeros. (Whatever the cause would be in the books, I'm sure the show would make it into martyrdom to fit the tone of his storyline so far, lol.) I think that Bran will return to WF and Rickon will be his heir. As for Dany, I used to be sure that she will die, but after TWoIaF I'm not so sure. She bears great similarity to Nymeria, who had huge impact on the country she invaded, while OTOH other Targaryen would-be queens, Rhaenys the Queen who Never Was and Rhaenyra, had been unfairly screwd due to their sex, so I think it's possible that GRRM's going to make her into the first queen regnant of the Seven Kingdoms who sucessfully rules, to right the past wrongs, kind of, a Targaryen Nymeria, if you will. I know that many fans would hate it for disparate reasons, one of them that it's *too obvious*, but I was never one of those people who thought that GRRM's ideas were terribly original.

I know it's a ways off and there's still a lot of stuff that has to happen, but how do you envision the final scene of the show? Remember the show is supposed to land at the same ending as GRRM's , if he does not change it! D&D mentioned just the other day that in a meeting with George he speculated about a 'different' ending than apparently they had talked about before, so what to make of that? I have a feeling that at this late date that was GRRM sparking it I don't think he's gonna really change anything. One thing to think about is that one 'vision' of The House of Undying (where the undying die!) Dany has this vision [S3E10] of the Iron Throne throne room trashed. What if the Others do make it to KL but , in ripping yarn tradition, when things look the worse, are thrown back? Westeros kind of wrecked but surviving, what then?

I always thought it would be Jon overlooking his kingdom.

For the show, since we opened in the North, I think the last shot will be in the North. I think it will be surviving Starks rebuilding Winterfell and laying their father, mother and brother to rest. Either the show will have them burying remains or just unveiling the crypt statues for Ned, Catelyn and Robb and laying swords on them. I don't know. But I think we close on Winterfell. Since the Starks are the first family we meet in the show, I think the last shot is them too.

I think the final chapter of the books will be Bran. If that's true hopefully he's the last you see in the show too. They might not go for that but maybe!

Good point on the bolded. Nictarion on and I had a brief discussion on w.org last week about Dany being the rightful heir to the Targaryen dynasty. After wha we learn in TWoIaF, Aerys passed over Aegon as his heir. And named his own son Viserys his heir. Dany as Viserys' heir should be the rightful queen However, because of Targaryen inheritance practie, woman arenas allowed to inherite the crown. It it would be nice if woman were finally allowed to inherite. Dany is fighting to restore her house and has even brought the dragons back, she's earned it.

If it's not Jon looking at everything, I actually wouldn't mind the typical series end scene with a beautiful score playing and we just check in on all of our main characters one last time.

I think Viserion and Rhaegal will turn out to be Protandrous hermaphrodites, so the last scene will be Drogon tending to a clutch of new born little dragons. Fin
How bout that!

Last shot is the combined forces of men, wildlings and WW alike rebuilding the Wall, with the Night's King, Jon and Bran looking.

I always hoped that Davos' final scene would be him sailing home with his son... the one thats still alove in the books. He may be the only character I truly want a happy ending for.
