Fuck, I think we might have been led to believe Theon was part of the sequence because Alfie was mentioned being there during the same week, but they were filming multiple scenes from different episodes so I'm hoping archiechvyalthan remembers. I just remembered I think it was because the reddit spoilers about Yara being in Volantis mentioned him being there. Wasn't it? The original rumors said Theon and Yara were both in Volantis, yes! Which kind of makes sense since I find it hard to picture Yara as a POV character all of a sudden. On the other hand, the notion of Theon in Essos is very weird.

This could be utter bollocks (it's from imdb) but maybe it's worth a look: "The same extra that said (months ago) on Reddit that Yara was going to Volantis also said Rickon dies in battle".
Maybe later I'll try to find the original Reddit post with the Volantis rumor to see if this matches up.

Hmmmm. Surprising death to me screams Littlefinger. I'd love for Sansa to stab him in 610. Rickon would be shocking to book readers, but the GA have probably laregely forgotten about him. Assuming shocking is for everyone, it makes me think it isn't Rickon.

That's the rumor that Me and Konrad were trying to figure out if it was true or not.

That's the rumor that Me and Konrad were trying to figure out if it was true or not. It's got to be legit. It not only said Yara would go to Volantis, but it explicitly mentions the tavern.

OK, I think I found it. This was the Reddit-Stark Death report, which was picked up by WIC: "The battle scene in the North. Boltons vs northern allies (Karstarks & Umbers), sellswords, wildlings and A STARK is killed in a very shocking battle." Comments in the article claim that it was the same Redditer who divulged the Yara rumor: "Davos 4 king September 18, 2015 at 10:48 am I read that reddit thread and it also says Yara and Theon flee to Volantis after the kingsmoot. Why volantis? Wouldn’t Mereen be more likely? To try and set up an alliance with Dany." But the original Reddit thing has been deleted when I want to access it. winteriscoming.net/2015/09/18/rumor-more-large-scale-season-6-battle-filming-in-ireland-with-youknowwho/

Has to be Rickon right? But wtf is a little kid doing in a battle in the first place? Sansa and Jon are out of the question. So it would have to be Rickon or Benjen. Most likely Rickon. Of course, even if Rickon DOES die, it does not mean he was the death that shocked Javi. After all, he may have found out about the Snowbowl deaths earlier than November.

That's the rumor that Me and Konrad were trying to figure out if it was true or not. It would also fit with that Tavern Girl character being the same one with Yara from the trailer.

And if the bit about "an army" is true, I could really see a bunch of Ironborn ships showing up in ep. 610 outside Meereen. Mesa Roldan is right by the water after all...

If the army bit is true, the Ironborn will definitely have a part to play in the Meereen conclusion, I agree. Strange that they decided not to have Euron there in person, though. Maybe the Oldtown stuff is really important.

Maybe the Oldtown stuff is really important. Unless the theories of him sneaking to Meereen on Victarion's ship is true like many people seem to believe. But yeah, I think Oldtown will be very important for him. Which would tie together what you called IIRC our two biggest unknowns for the ending of s6, how Sam's arc and Euron's end.

i think its littlefinger or melisandre.
Can't see rickon dying 'in battle' and honestly it wouldn't be that surprising. Sansa dying on the other hand would be.

From what cami posted today from Javi, most of it seemed to corroborate that reddit info we were discussing. Which points to it being Rickon.
