The dragons need to take a break. Give me DA WOLVEZ. There's only going to be more dragons going forward though. I doubt the direwolves will play a big role in the War for Dawn. But I'm all for more direwolves as well. Especially Ghost! That's fine. But the Starks are gonna have a comeback and that's where they should show the direwolves. From what we know, S6 could be a direwolf-heavy season.

But the Starks are gonna have a comeback and that's where they should show the direwolves. From what we know, S6 could be a direwolf-heavy season. I think it will be and hopefully we see Ghost and Shaggydog in action at Snowbowl. I have a feeling that before Jon's resurrection and before Arya regains her sight, the show would explore their warging abilities because it would really be the perfect time to do it. We already know that Ghost will play a part in Jon's resurrection and with Rickon returning, Shaggydog is very likely to come back, we have Summer with Bran, and then Nymeria somewhere in the Riverlands. It does really seems like a season of resurrection like I've said before with a lot of characters coming back into the story, Jon is going to be resurrected by Mel, Sansa resurrecting the Northern Lords who have been quiet, Bran resurrecting the past by seeing the ToJ, Arya resurrecting the stark feelings inside of her after playing Mercy in the Bloody Hand, and then Sandor regaining his health with the help of Elder Brother/Meribald in the Riverlands. I think the only issue is that casual viewers might be a bit confused because warging wasn't really touched upon except by Bran. They could have Arya dreaming through the eyes of Nymeria at the beginning of her arc and then have her reunite with Nymeria and her wolfpack at the end and then Jon warging into Ghost following Mel around in the first episode or so would also give us some hope that the all the Starks are really embracing their identities a lot more than before.

In terms of the Dragons scenes, I think there could be a see in the premiere with Tyrion going into the catacombs as he's always been fascinated by dragons. Not really sure how safe that is, but they have to be released near the end of the season anyway and I doubt that would be the only time we see them. There's the scene with Drogon burning the temple at Vaes Dothrak. At least when Dany comes back to Meereen with the Dothraki, Drogon has to burn some shit, whether it be the Yunkish army that's outside the gates or parts of the city in general and then someone could release Viserion and Rhaegal from the inside. Also, there was the scene filmed with Dany, Tyrion, Missandei, and Grey Worm meeting with the three masters and they said that Drogon flies overhead. My theory was that the Sons of the Harpy would infiltrate Meereen from the inside (which they've already been doing so if Dany is gone, they'll obviously take advantage of this) and the Yunkish would begin to siege the city from the outside and when Tyrion nearly loses control, Dany arrives with the Dothraki and Drogon. In terms of the interview that Emilia gave about how we'll see some riding dragons. Could that be Dany flying on Drogon in the finale after everyone is loaded onto the ships sailing for westeros or she just decides to ride him during the Battle of Fire? I mean I doubt this sequence we'll really be that long, but I could see it being longer than the Sack of Astapor, but shorter than Hardhome.

What happens if you like Direwolves and Dragons equally? Although @kairos, I do prefer Direwolves over Dragons at times, I just thought they were extremely underused last season.

The good thing though is the Direwolves are very likely making a big comeback in S6, so I'm really looking forward to that.

Count me in the 'direwolves over dragons' club! Chapter 26, AGOTIt's such a sweet moment. I love that bit. I also love the Stark "it seemed a thousand years ago." Arya also has a memory of Sansa where she thinks "A thousand years ago she knew a girl who loved lemon cakes." I just want my Starks back together again.

I'm not going to lie, I really, really don't give a fuck about any of the direwolves on the show, with the exception of Summer. The show has made its lack of interest in them clear, so I've never allowed myself to get invested.

I think the show treats direwolves in precisely the same way Martin does, ignore them till they are relevant.

The wolves are very much a constant presence for all of the Starks in the books with the exception of Sansa (for obvious reasons), but even then she still occasionally dreams and thinks of Lady. Nymeria hasn't been seen since 1x02. Has she even been mentioned since either? I really, really doubt she features again in any meaningful way and at this stage, I hope they don't bother bringing her back. Ignoring her from 1x02 until sometime in season 6 would be worse than just forgetting about her completely.

The wolves are mentioned in almost every chapter of a Stark POV.

From my experience talking with casual fans, most don't really care that much about the dragons in general. They like the political and character drama of pitting the Houses and people against each other.
The dragons are just a tool in the overall story anyway, same as the wolves. They're cool, but they're not what draws people in outside of the hardcore fantasy lovers.
