Neither was Watchers on the Wall tbh. I think from a cinematic point of view it pretty much was and it actually made me feel something. I still have goosebumps every time I watch this scene: The writing was not a 100% perfect, that's true. But overall it's a much, much better episode than 5x09. That's a great scene for sure, but I felt more during Daznak's Pit. I care much more about Dany than Grenn. And her scene with Jorah hit me in the feels more than the tunnel scene. Also, despite the cgi not being perfect seeing Dany ride Drogon was pretty epic. But we can agree to disagree. 5x09 is also fresher in my mind, haven't seen 4×09 in a while.

I don't think it was. It could have been better, but it brought on a lot of emotions for me while watching it. From Dany taking Jorah's hand, to Drogon swooping in to save the day, to their flight, I pretty much loved it. to each their own, but i thought the entire thing was terribly cheesy. it wasnt a character defining moment for dany like in the books imo. dany's scenes in episode 10 were messy too, especially compared to cersei's WOS. that especially stuck out because its pretty clear that cersei's WOS and dany's last ADWD chapter are meant to parallel somewhat. Eh, after I got over my initial "it was better in the book" reaction I appreciated it much more. It would have been great to have Ser Barristan's "try me" or Dany taming Drogon, but it is what it is.

I didn't feel a thing during Daznak's Pit, tbh. All I could think about was Shireen. As I said, pacing is everything.

I don't think so. That was shot in Girona in Spain. Only one scene was shot in Dubrovnik this year, the scene where Cersei waits for Jaime's ship with the Mountain by her side. Also when D&D were talking about making this change in the writers room, they were obviously talking about S7 since the podcast was released yesterday. Around 45 minutes, they said that they're still editing S6 and going in tomorrow for sound, while also outlining S7. Remind me to include this when there's a "Road to season 7" thread

Episode 07x09: The Battle for King's Landing. Final battle in Dany's invasion. Imagine a Martell/Targaryen/Tyrell alliance against a Lannister/Greyjoy one on the battlefield, with Euron's Iron Fleet, dragons and huge armies. And Neil Marshall directing. I can't wait for Nezzer's and @rooseisazorhai's name. What will it be? QUEENBOWL? So the battle culminates in a fight to the death between Euron and Daario? BENJENBOWL CONFIRMED

This stuntwoman who's around Emilia's size (an inch shorter) is appearing in episodes 604 and 605. She also got this signed picture from Emilia, so I'm fairly sure she was her stunt double in those two episodes. One of which (604) is very likely the episode with the fire in Vaes Dothrak.

On Daznak, i would have preferred if Dany wasn't so gentle and less princess-y. It would have been great had she stormed into the pit herself and started whipping drogon and had a little more fire. Then jorah could have taken barristan's role trying to protect her. But yeh it was much better viewing it on re-watch. Because the shireen scene before it was so emotional, what was going on at Daznak's didn't compare.

So I thinking about what new places we could see in the opening in season six. There is Oldtown, obviously, and possibly Horn Hill, but I think that is it. We might see places like Riverrun and Pyke, but those are not new.

If you have Riverrun, Pyke, and Vaes Dothrak coming back into the story and then KL, The Wall, Winterfell, Meereen, Braavos, and Dorne returning, it would be difficult to pan the camera across to another new location.

Oldtown and Last Hearth. Riverrun, Pyke and Vaes Dothrak will return, maybe the Twins too.

I'm glad to see some love for Grenn's last stand. It was my favourite scene from 04x09. One of the bravest death so far in this story. Also, I have to agree with those saying that Daznak was a bit underwhelming. There were some cool action stunts there, but it lacks the emotional depth that was present in the book for that scene. Besides, it came after a very intense episode (Hardhome), and after a emotional devastating scene (Shireen's death), so it was never going to be easy for Daznak. The stand-out moments for me were the beautiful music and Tyrion's face at the end.

My prediction: Episodes 1-4: The Wall, Winterfell, King's Landing, Meereen, Braavos, Vaes Dothrakh. Episodes 5-8: The Wall, Winterfell, King's Landing, Meereen, Braavos, Pyke. Episodes 9-10: The Wall, Winterfell, King's Landing, Meereen, Riverrun, Oldtown. I only included Oldtown in the last two episodes because I think Sam will only get there at the very end of the season. The lack of Maesters and Oldtown related cast characters (there's only one small scene between Sam and a young Maester confirmed, IIRC), makes me think we won't see much of the city this season. The Citadel will be in season 7 too, IMHO.

I went to bed right after the discussion about 7x09 and QUEENBOWL yesterday and of course I dreamed about it. I can't remember much of it, just that it became my favourite episode ever. I clearly need a season 6 trailer ASAP.

Dany taking Jorah's hand was my favorite part of the whole Daznak sequence. I guess I'm a cold hearted bastard, but Shireen's death in no way took away from the pit scene for me.

Only thing I can remember about S5E9 is the David Benioff spoiler , straight from GRRM, about Shireen's fate.

And probably different doubles for different kinds of stunts. As far as stand-ins go, this season I imagine she has one just for horseback stuff as well as her usual one.
