Also in terms of series regulars, RIP Ellaria, Roose, Daario, Ramsay, Tormund/Davos, and Tommen? I honestly don't care about any of those characters dying. I only care about Tormund and Davos. I just like McElhatton's portrayal of Roose.

Doran let his only son go with myrcella to kings landing. There's no plan, well nothing that resembles the book. My guess is Trystane gets killed and Doran sides with Daenerys when she comes to westeros. Bec, siding with Dany is a plan though. No, haha a plan would be not sending his only son to his death, and at least accompanying one sandsnake with him to KL. Or at least a guard like Areo Hotah. Siding with Dany in this situation would be after Trystanes death, and not so much a plan but a convenience.

So it wasn't conceivably sending him off to his death at that time. He's safe in KL until Cersei comes back into her full power, which she probably won't at any point in s6. Also it's possible that he's still smuggled out of KL before that happens. Potentially by Varys.

Keeping the peace is his goal in the show. exactly! Well, I never said otherwise. Anyhow it's a more admirable goal in a way than supporting fAegon's doomed bullshit. He'll provide troops for Dany in s7, I imagine.

It was my fault because I overanalyzed the situation. I still think that at the end of S6, Doran will decide to support Dany and open the door for her to land in Dorne in early s7.

And if your Jorah-Golden Company theory is right then they could begin to invade northwards before Dany even lands in Westeros.

Honestly, Dorne was just a massive waste of time in the show. Without Arianne and quentyn to put into action Doran's plan that spanned decades it was just brain numbing. They should have done iron islands and riverlands last season and introduced dorne this season when they were relevant. Going back to Dorne seems like the wrong decision, but i legitimately think its to right their wrongs. But in my opinion it was cheap of them to leave it open, so that this season he can magically have a plan if they wanted to. Even if it contradicts Doran's actions in season 5.

As horribly written and ridiculous as Dorne was in the show, they obviously included it to show the reaction after Oberyn's death. I mean if they skipped another season it would have thrown off their plans for the KL storyline. Look I dunno wtf happened in the writing room, all I'm saying is that Doran will side with Dany and she needs allies in Westeros so he would be one of them for when she lands.

They ruined ellaria and only went to dorne because of oberyns popularity. But the mistake they made was taking away from the characters everything the audience loved about oberyn in the first place.

Dorne didn't have anywhere near enough screentime for it to have been traded-off constructively in s5 for either the Iron Islands or the Riverlands. So really it wasn't really an either-or proposition. The Iron Islands were delayed so that Theon would be our "in" to returning there in s6 which makes plenty of sense for adaptational purposes. And with the Dorne decision made and the focus in the North, the Jaime and Brienne reunion-delaying choice worked to consolidate screentime in those two locations insofar as it was possible.
But there was no way of just not returning to Dorne at all in s6 because of the reception towards the s5 arc. It's too tied-in to the goings-on in KL and will be central to the Cersei-Kevan-Jaime dynamic in s6. So some follow-up with Doran and Ellaria is necessary as well. Though it's likely to have very little screentime again of course, as it did in s5. s7 will be when its focus will increase, I think.

Yeah true. Oberyn's popularity is definitely another reason they went to Dorne. I just don't understand how Oberyn said to Cersei in S4, "We don't hurt little girls in Dorne" and then Ellaria goes against that. Perhaps it would have been better if the SS crowned Myrcella and turned her against Cersei instead of killing her, but kind of too late. Anyway, I'm saying again that Doran will ally with Dany at the end of the season. And like you said it's not a plan, it's a convenience really for both characters. Although Dany's main conflict will be more with Euron when she finally lands.

I disagree. Dorne got enough screentime to
1. Visit the iron islands, kill balon, hold a kingsmoot and reveal eurons plans to invade the reach hence setting up next season when sam gets there.
2. Jaime travels to riverrun, assesses the situation, up to the point where he receives cersei's letter.

They can't introduce whole new storylines without a main character, the Iron Islands with only Asha as an introductory vessel would not have worked for unsullied. There was honestly nothing wrong with the way they introduced Dorne, it makes sense in terms of adaptation, the real issues were in the execution.

Well i dont know the stats but judging by the length of youtube videos of jaime and bronn in season 5, they had at least 30 mins together. And about 80% of their arcs this season were in dorne. So id say dorne had a solid 30 mins at least. Enough time imo. 20 mins for iron islanders and 10 mins extra screentime for jaime in riverlands as i wasnt suggesting he would complete his material. I suppose Stannis should have been introduced by Catelyn then. It can work, although i never said the way they introduced dorne was wrong. Also having jaime there did nothing for the unsullied they were still confused as fuck.
