I'm having a tough time making sense of his arc in the show. In the books, he's got the little false shit. Guessing he's going to go Team Daenerys starting early season 6, but the speech has to be coming. |

It should be if he does some variation of the Fire and Blood speech at the end of the season. I'm having a tough time making sense of his arc in the show. In the books, he's got the little false shit. Guessing he's going to go Team Daenerys starting early season 6, but the speech has to be coming. I assume Doran will reveal his plot to Ellaria and the SS about allying with Dany sometime after he punishes them for killing Myrcella. I don't see how Ellaria would stay alive after that though, but the SS should swear their loyality to him. Doran will probably send Tyene and Nym to KL to conspire and retrieve Trystane. Obara will probably stay in Dorne to raise an army and wait for Dany and her entourage to land.. I'm not sure whether it's Jorah or Varys that will come to negotiate with Doran because I'd like to see Varys kill Kevan and Pycelle, but I still have that theory of Jorah taking on some of Connington's role. |

I'm not saying I hate the Ellaria character, but I'll really miss seeing Arianne being adapted. She was perfect for Game of Thrones.

If Doran has no master plan then why include him in the show at all? Do they care enough about book fans to give us nods like that? I doubt it. With Arianne and fAegon gone, Doran has to have a master plan or else he will have literally served no purpose other hosting Myrcella then getting her killed, which they could've accomplished by Cersei getting a raven saying "Oh no, Myrcella died of a fever" or something.

His s6 arc, I imagine, will be about him deciding to side with Dany against the Crown. About the peace he wanted in s5 becoming impossible. I wouldn't be surprised if Ellaria did what she did in cahoots with Varys in show-canon. To force Doran's hand.
