Yeh i think they should've introduced bowen marsh in these episodes. Because I kind've felt that Jon and Aliser have an understanding between them before the battle in ep 409. they don't actually hate each other but have differing views. i find it hard to believe that Aliser would stab Jon. i dunno.
I agree that Aliser will have command at castle black while Jon is at Hardhome.

Same here, especially with that slight look of contempt and 'I won't help you' he threw Slynt before the execution scene

I guess things escalate quickly after the Wildlings are settled into the Gift and after Hardhome.

I think they've clearly set up the "you care more about the Wildlings than you do about your NW duties" conflict with Thorne. That's really the only thing that Marsh and co have against him as well in ADwD. Jon is about to go on a mission to save Wildlings and cost the NW lives in the process. And he's going to allow the Wildlings safe access/to join the NW.
They need this to be a betrayal so they can't have Thorne be a straight up rival/villain before it happens. At the same time, it's not like they're friends either and Thorne has never trusted Jon with the Wildlings and Jon's decisions in the next little while are only going to make that suspicion worse.
I think it's definitely being telegraphed. As will Jon's steward deciding to reluctantly go along with it because of his hatred of the Wildlings. He's the one who'll be crying through the whole thing.

Just a side note for episode #503... When Jon beheads Slynt, the same music plays that played when Theon beheaded Cassel and Robb beheaded Karstark. "I Paid the Iron Price"...I love that they reuse this theme in such a way...it doesn't bode well for things to come. Jon Snow shouldn't have Euron's Theme. Well, since Euron hasn't actually appeared in the show, I'd say it isn't his theme. And slight correction- it's "Pay the Iron Price". Which fits well with the situation in which it's been applied.

BTW folks, since Stannis seems to imply in ep. 504 that the ruins of Old Valyria are a sortof leper colony for people with Greyscale and this will likely be merged with the Sorrows in Tyrion and Jorah's travels (which pretty much have to be in ep. 505 now, given that the summaries reveal they'll run into the slavers in ep. 506)...and since it's unlikely that Arya will be absent for two eps. in a row, in both 504 AND 505, do you all think it's likely that we'll get Jaqen describing the role the Faceless Men played in the Doom of Valyria as the lead-in to the show's version of the Stone Men scene?

Yeah even though Arya isn't mentioned in the synopsis for 505, I imagine she'll still be in the episode for a scene or two so Jaqen mentioning that would make sense to further emphasize how Valyria/Stonemen will appear.
If they appear, then we'll see every storyline except for Dorne.

Looks like we'll have a fair amount of the Wall in episode 5 with at least: Stannis prepping to leave/Watch looking on, Davos and Jon scene on the balcony overlooking the courtyard, and Stannis having a scene with Sam.

im hoping for Stannis + Melisandre + Sam + Aemon scene. Something has to bring up doubts of Stannis being AAR. Melisandre also sees danger for Jon Snow in the fires doesn't she?
I think we'll see Dany, Tyrion, Arya, Cersei, BriPod, Jon, Sam and team dragonstone.

I'd also love the inclusion of Stannis knowing who Aemon is as he does in the book so they can clarify the tv Baratheon's Targ blood. But not holding my breath for that and any Stannis/Aemon scene would be great. The Wall sl should be jam-packed in this ep.

I'd love that scene as its written in the book how Aemon examines Stannis' sword. But they haven't really established his 'flaming' sword, so i doubt they will do that. But yeh unfortunately i think Stannis leaves CB this episode so they'll probably have a lot of scenes there between characters. and probably no time for Aemon and Stannis.

I'm glad Hibbard confirmed it was indeed McElhinney who gave the interview about being killed off before the season started. I think a good chunk of us could see by the clues (longtime actor, read the books, thought he'd be doing more this season etc) that McElhinney was the only candidate but there were still holdouts who had weird guesses about who they thought it was.
