Not to interrupt the CKII talk (not even sure what that is lmao looks like you guys are having fun though!) but has anyone played the Game of Thrones game? The first one not the Telltale one. Just downloaded it because it was a dollar on PSN. I'll probably start it sometime this week. Heard the story was good. Anyone here play it? $1? Is it on the PS4 store? Umm I'm not sure. You'll have to look. I got the PS3 version. Not sure if the sale ended or not... And thanks for your review lordcarson! Good to hear it's not that bad.

The fact that it costs a dollar should be telling of its quality, but I've played worst games for more money. If nothing else, its a cool story! There's also a cameo appearance by a certain fat fellow...

I played the first GoT game and I didn't think it was too bad. Not really worth a replay, though. They overplayed some of the magic aspects too much IMHO. You get to physically fight two shadow babies in the fucking throne room, using an actual sword (only Valyrian steel causes damage, though

Personally I haven't played that, but I have read a few reviews and they weren't so positive. Please tell us what you think when you have played some of it. Okay, back to CKII. I brought it today (from g2a for 8 bucks) and downloaded the GoT mod. I played it for 2 hours straight until it crashed I started as Jeor Mormont and the NW as lordcarson suggested. Mance attacked me under 5 min and nearly lost, but thankfully I managed to push him back. Soon after Jeor died some random dude took over the wall and I controlled him. Later on the White walkers surrendered and Mance sued for peace. Stannis won the war of the Five kings and he controversially executed Robb and Sansa and put Rickon in charge at Winterfell. Stannis soon died after he lost a duel against Garlan Tyrell. Shireen "the Stoneface" took over and she's a tyrant (she is tutored by LF). Bran leads the North and the Riverlands against her, but loses and WF and the North goes to some weird dude whose name I can't remember. The Martells took Skagos and so on. Veery interesting. This was a great story and some surprising twists there (The White Walkers surrender?!) ... I was under the impression games like that took a lot longer than a couple of hours to get anywhere but it sounds like you had a lot happening in a short period of time! I am going to try it some time over the summer. I am working two jobs right now (at opposite ends of the day) and just don't have the brain bandwidth for an RTS/RPG type campaign. I've been playing complete fluff lately just as a mindless way to wind down between work hours - kind of the way some people stare at a television. If it requires thinking, I can't play it right now haha. PS: Sounds like you had an ok experience (and a good deal) using G2A. Still hoping CKII goes on Steam Summer Sales.

Most of the time I was on high speed, because nothing really happened. (except the WW and wildling invasion) I can strongly recommend the mod! Such a fantastic mod! Yeah, G2A was excellent. A question for you experienced CK II: GOT players out there: How can I call my allies to come and help me? I started a story with the Greatjon and married one of my daughters to Robb and one to Wendel Manderly. My son wed Karstark's eldest daughter and Mors married the she-bear. I also let my brother marry some lesser lord's daughter. Now the NW has fallen and 20 000 wildlings are marching towards the Last Hearth. How the hell can I call for help from my allies?

You can only call allies who are in the same realm as you are or if they are independent is you are also independent. You can't call a minor count from Braavos to your war if you are playing as a Manderly, for instance, but you can call a Bolton or a Ryswell. I recommend you to try playing as a Greyjoy. You can raid other places, steal their gold and capture people without having to start a war. It's pretty fun to round up an entire family and offer them all to the Drowned God

Also, if I lose all my lands, is it game over for me?

Oh, and is the Wildling war against you specifically or is it against whoever controls the North and you are just a vassal? If it's the latter, you can't call allies because it's not your war.

Against me as well. I went to help the NW earlier, so under my character tab there's the war against the wildlings.

Does it say something like "Wildling war against the North" or "Wildling war against Last Hearth"? If your allies are under the same liege as you are, then you should be able to call them into war. They might refuse, but the option should still be there.

The war wasn't against you, but against your liege, and technically your allies were already on your side, under Robb's command.

Hmm, as much as it would be cool, I have to say it's coincidence. That diamond panel window shape is a common pattern for many things especially in ornate designs and stained glass for that time period and even modern times. I have a stained glass hanging ornament that's almost the same exact pattern. It could be I guess, if someone in the show likes or plays Destiny but I doubt it. Edit: I just re-read the bit on it and missed that part about Peter doing the voice-over for Ghost, I had no idea and that's cool! In that case it very well could be a nod to his participation in both.

A conspiracy theory I can get behind! Anyone ever play the ACOK mod for M£B warband by the way? I don't remember seeing a thread or mention of this on other forums, which was kinda wierd, since I found it great. It's in 2.0 release now.

Well, this sucks. I decided to try the Ironborn in the Feast for Crows scenario and my armies got smashed in 5 minutes. The Reach marched on me with 30k men. I couldn't even pillage anyone because I was at war. Blah. What are some "easy" but interesting characters to play as? I'm so bad at the moment. It would also help if the game wouldn't crash so often.

It can be a bit challenging sometimes, but just rush straight to Winterfell and try to capture Robb's family. Anyone ever play the ACOK mod for M£B warband by the way? It's fun, but it gets boring pretty quickly IMHO. Multiplayer is where M&B rules. I usually play as Lord_Roose_Bolton in siege servers, mostly just taking command of the team and giving orders far from the battle, but when I want to actually fight I pick my King_Ramsay_Bolton character.
