Why is George so fixated with Sibel? Perhaps he was a fan of her prior work. Or maybe they are just friends?

Oh, sorry. I was looking for a post about it and was surprised to not find any. I guess I didn't look hard enough.

Well she does have 8 or 9 books out already...plus side stories that could fill in that could stretch the series out more should the series catch up with her (which I doubt it will). And she is a much faster writer than GRRM, because as she says she keeps writing no matter what she is doing. For me ASOIAF/GoT>>>>>>>>Outlander (book/TV)--not that it matters.

I haven't read Outlander, I did watch the first half of season one though when I had a free preview of Starz and it was pretty good, though I think ASOIAF is more of my thing. I wish GRRM would adopt the "write everywhere" mantra. It's got to be embarrassing that the TV show is going to finish his story first.

I have to read the books but the Outlander tv series is pretty good. It's very different from GoT so I like them for different reasons. But yeah, I do prefer GoT mostly because dragons.

What I like about Outlander is the same thing I like about GoT is the cast and the high level that the teleplays are pitched at. Good production values. It is more sophisticated than a lot of GoT coat tail riders which have flopped. It is a bit off-center 'fantasy' like GoT , but off-center odd seems to attracting attention these days. Man in a High Castle has been given a second season and you can't get a story more odd than that one.

"Meanwhile, I will continue making my own recommendations here from time to time, when I have the time and the energy. Both of which I find are in short supply these days."grrm.livejournal.com/The panic button has definitely been pressed by this guy. Those of you who believe that we'll see TWOW is not being honest with yourself. It may never happen.
