Ahhh, The Walking Dead. My favourite uneven love-to-hate-it/hate-to-love-it mess of a TV show. Obviously I still like it enough, otherwise I wouldn't watch it anymore. I don't hatewatch things, at least not for long. But I'm quite optimistic about Season 6. I thought the second half of Season 5 was much better than the first half.

I don't hatewatch things, at least not for long. But I'm quite optimistic about Season 6. I thought the second half of Season 5 was much better than the first half. Pretty much this. I was really into TWD for the first three or so seasons, but at some point during Season 4, I've lost interest. Maybe that's because the entire second half of Season 4 (except that one episode with Carol and the two girls), as well as huge chunks of Season 5, were boring as hell. Also the constant use of excessive gore kinda bothers me. I don't usually mind gore effects, if they're used well, but you can watch a zombie getting stabbed or shot in the head only so many times, before it gets dull and repetitive. The show still has a few great characters left, like Rick, Michonne and Carol (God, I love Carol), and honestly, these characters are the only reason why I keep watching the show, I'm still invested in their storylines. I do have hopes for Season 6, the last few episodes of Season 5 weren't bad at all, and I'm curious to see where it is going. But I hope they kill off Carl along the way. I hate that kid so fucking much ...

Poor show Carl, comics Carl is all kinds of awesome, but the show version seems to get as much hate as any tv character I've seen in recent memory. I personally don't mind him tbh.

I don't know. I've started watching the show, after I had finished the first Season of Telltale's The Walking Dead, and Clem is such an amazing kid character, especially in comparison to Show-Carl, who's just constantly disobeying his parents, whining and causing trouble for others.
Furthermore, the kid who plays Carl is not that good of an actor, imho, so it is really kinda difficult for me to get invested in his character. He annoys me, more than anything.
I don't have an opinion on Carl in the comics, because I've never read them.

Carl annoyed me endlessly in the first three seasons, but I quite like him since his big episode in Season 4 (the one in which Rick is passed out and Carl has to manage things alone). I mean, he is a teenager who has to grow up during a zombie apocalypse for god's sake. I'm pretty sure I was a bit annoying during my puberty, too, and I didn't have zombies to worry about. Don't get me wrong, he is still not my favourite character by any means, but I cut him some slack. Furthermore, I think it's quite impressive how his moral integrity is still intact after what happened to him, while his father is completely jumping the rails. But aside from our different opinions about Carl, I second everything Basil said about the show. Season 4 was meh, excecpt for that Carol-episode with the sisters. That episode is probably in my top 5.

I watch mainly for Carol so when she goes I do but will also be watching Fear the Walking Dead because I think Kim Dickens is great in everything she's in!

Really looking forward to this one! I'm a recent 'convert' to TWD, having not picked it up until the third season and then marathon watching the whole thing until 4th season started! I felt this past season was one of the better ones, recovering a lot of what was lost in around the 3rd and half of 4th. I'm not a huge fan of horror/zombie/gore but the story is so compelling and the characters so well done - it drew me in! I also love post-apocalypse and this story fits in that genre simply because the entire world has been destroyed and they're alone trying to survive and rebuild society which I love. Carol is probably my favorite character as well day dreamer - woohoo! She's just developed and changed so much from her initial 'abused wife' days at the start. She's truly a badass now particularly this past season or two since Terminus! I'm looking forward to Season 6 even though I'm not as fond of the Alexandria stuff - I have read enough about the comic book series to know it's a main focus for them. I just hope it doesn't bog down and drag. The actors have said Season 6 will NOT disappoint so I am hopeful!

Yes! Carol is by far my favorite. She's had the most character development, and while that show is far from perfect, it's a joy to watch Carol go from the abused housewife to a very capable survivor. Melissa McBride is an extremely underrated actress too. She's given Emmy worthy performances on this show, but she'll probably never be recognized because the writing on this show is mostly bad.
My other favorites are Rick and Glenn.

I watched the first season and after it I really haven't got time.
But I don't particularly care for zombies (I usually hate zombie movies etc) so I don't really care.

A really crappy quality version of the S6 trailer dropped last night. The HD one should be today. It should be interesting. The SDCC trailers are always very misleading for this show, I can't wait to see how it actually plays out.
And I need to see more of my Queen outside of her Suzy Homemaker clothes.

Only realised recently it was Stephen Dillane's kid in Fear the Walking Dead. He looks nothing like his daddy though.

Fear The Walking Dead looks good. Consider me surprised. Kim Dickens is awesome. On the other hand, I thought the trailer for Season 6 of The Walking Dead showed too much footage and was way too long. I stopped watching midway through, because I don't want to feel like I've already watched half of the episodes when they air.

"Fear the Walking Dead" is such a lame title, though.
