I have had a very hard time keeping interested in The Walking Dead this hiatus. That's a little surprising because I'm excited about a certain character's return. I think it's because I fear I see two of my favorites (Rick and Carol) turning into villains before my eyes. Rick is my TV boyfriend. If he goes bad, I'll have to go into mourning. They won't turn into villains.  Melissa McBride actually had to spell it out for people at SDCC that Carol isn't a cold blooded killer. I guess some didn't get that the first time around. They're actually two of the smartest survivors in the safe zone right now. |

If it weren't for Michonne, none of them would even be in Alexandria, and our dear Aaron would be dead. I think they are smart survivors and loyal to their group, but if they don't turn it around, they're on a moral decline that will get them killed because they no longer trust any stranger, ever. |

Hopefully Sasha gets offed soon. Can't stand her. I've come to love her this past season. I was sure she was gonna go Charles Whitman in that tower, but she never did. |

I think a lot of things in that trailer are misdirected. Rick vs Morgan will not be as big. Glenn isn't telling Maggie to keep an eye on Carol, he's telling her to keep an eye on Deanna. Rick and Daryl don't have a disagreement. etc |

Fear The Walking Dead looks good. Consider me surprised.  Kim Dickens is awesome. On the other hand, I thought the trailer for Season 6 of The Walking Dead showed too much footage and was way too long. I stopped watching midway through, because I don't want to feel like I've already watched half of the episodes when they air. Just catching up on all TWD stuff including the trailers. I have stayed away from most of the media hype for awhile, just like I will probably stay away the last month or so before GoT returns (unless I just give in to weakness)! I agree with you, that trailer was really long and even though I know they're famous for mixing up scenes to make you think something else is happening (like Morgan and Rick fighting) they still gave away far too much of the season's plotline IMO. It's pretty easy to piece together what's going to go down this season with Alexandria. Still looking forward to it. It's my favorite TV candy in the off-season of GoT. Also looking forward to Fear the Walking Dead as an appetizer, but the trailer seems like they lifted a whole lot of stuff right off of World War Z to be honest. |

So my hate-watch of The Walking Dead paid out, in the end. I didn't like season 1, thought season 2 was good, and then I absolutely hated season 3, I even stopped watching for 2 years. Then I came back this month and binge watched seasons 4 and 5. Oh my God. How much better this show got. They actually learned how to work with their characters, and develop them in a nice and understandable way, and the pacing got to awesome. I actually started loving this, specially the Beth-centric episodes and the Lizzie arc. Alexandria took some time to work, but the season 5 finale was the best episodes of this series so far IMO.
