So true with the internal monologue thing. That is something a book can do brilliantly, yet it can't viscerally and visually present the power of something. Well for the show it is the other way around, use that to your strength rather than trying to shoehorn in some inner thoughts with a voiceover. You can't simultaneously complain about overuse of exposition (and say things like 'show, don't tell') whilst also bemoaning a lack of internal expression. This isn't aimed at anyone specific, just a general point.

Fine I'm just gonna keep quiet and let you all wash the whole site over with your love for the show. God forbid I speak my mind. Okay, I'll just let you wash the site over with your hate for it? Look I'm not inhibiting your right to express your opinion, I don't think it's fair to suggest that. But I don't think your particular criticisms about this scene are justified and I'm allowed to express that myself. Edit: No idea what happened to that quote.

My post was not directed at you individually Admin - it was actually more for the PoV dialogue thing. I am respectful of other's disappointment or criticism of the show especially some of the choices made in the last 2-3 episodes but overall I think the majority of the show has done a great job with the material - especially the Walk of Shame footage so it's hard to see the nitpicking in that one (for me at least) when so much else in the wrap-up of the season was by far more agregious by comparison. I personally don't want you to keep quiet.

I disagree with those who thought they should have shown more of her internal PoV stuff from the books. Once again, it's impossible to do that on screen guys. I've seen this complaint before and it's not really reasonable. How do you convey what a person is thinking internally without some sort of cheesy external monologue? Lena held her head high and looked haughty at the start of the walk ... then slowly, as she progressed through the street, her pride and confidence began to slip away and by the end she was nearly collapsing and completely ruined. This is pretty accurate to exactly how it was described in the books. I don't think there was any need for internal monologue in that scene. Honestly, for me it would have been enough if Cersei had taken off her robes herself, instead of having the two septas violently strip her naked. It would have shown a certain degree of pride that was there in the books, but was missing from the show, imho.
As I said, I think this was one of the better scenes this season. This was just one small detail from the books, one aspect of Cersei's personality, that I wished the show had somehow managed to convey.

Sometimes the WYSIWYG editor here is not the best, so if your quote is borked it might be easier to use the BB code editor to fix it

I think they could've too. The GA despises Cersei already, but they left out a lot of what makes her so bad in the novels. And I absolutely agree with the body image thing. Cersei mused about that more than once in AFFC. She didn't feel self conscious right away, and when she did earlier, before her walk, she just drank it away. I'm still surprised they didn't feature Qyburn experiments more Yeah, that would've been very twisted and would've added a lot. All they had to do was have a scene of Cersei sending people to Qyburn, and they'd get the picture.

It's a tie for me. Lena delivered on WoS and more but I her scenes with Price were even better. She shined the whole season to be honest. Same for Dillane. I think he killed it the whole season too but his last scene was also just incredibly done. "Do your duty." and the way it was delivered was just pure Stannis.
