I was surprised that this thread wasn't up yet. What did your unsullied friends and family think about the episode? My friend called Stannis a pure cunt and she just couldn't enjoy Daznak at all after that scene. She kept on cursing Stannis as Drogon teared shit down. This is quite serious because she absolutely loves everything dragon related. She was wondering that how could Drogon see the difference between good guys and bad guys. She loved the episode other wise but she's super pissed at Stannis.

Ah yes and she wanted to ask that was Drogon's back covered in spikes. "Riding that must be super uncomfortable." "She can't sit on those!"

Couple of my Unsullied friends I've talked to loved Daznak. One of them said it was their favorite scene of the series.

Yeah, my Unsullied are going nuts of Daznak's. They also hated Shireen burning, but most of them were not huge Stannis fans anyways.

A whole bunch of people asked me if
1. Shireen scene was in the book 2. I still root for Stannis.
My answer for both of those was 'no' followed by hysterical sobbing

My unsullied hated Shireen's burning, naturally. One also opines that Dany flew off to free the other two dragons whereupon she will seriously take revenge against the SoH.

No distinct reaction to Shireen, but I saw some eyes open wide, looking shocked
"Is this Star Wars?" -to everyone in the centre of the pit
"Those spikes must hurt"

Some friends of mine hated the burning scene, loved the pit scene and though Dany riding the dragon was 'cheesy' and terrible looking.
I obviously disagree with them XD

I wish the show would make it utterly clear that Dany is only going to be able to control one dragon. It's tiresome to keep hearing people say "She's going to get all the dragons and burn stuff!"

She can only ride one dragon, but we have already seen her use them all at once in (book) Astapor. Granted they're much bigger now, but I don't think it's unthinkable that she could use them against an enemy with her Valyrian commands. If and when they have their own riders that's a different story.

She won't ever be able to tame them again.

Seems too convenient. And I don't see it happening for Bran. I could be wrong, of course, but it seems too easy like that.

This is probably somewhat wishful thinking on my part, because the idea of Tyrion riding a dragon makes me want to puke, but I do think Bran is more likely. He feels like Chekhov's warg to me, why make him so powerful if he cannot warg a dragon? Anyway, I do expect the horn to get one of the other dragons, but not permanently. Euron/Victarion feel like mid-story complications more than actual plausible dragonriders.

I usually watch the show live with my girlfriend (who is no Unsullied) and then rewatch it on monday evening on Sky Atlantic when I go see my parents.
My mom cried during Shireen's burning, and her only comment was: "Now you've crossed the line, Stannis. You'll never be the hero you wanted to be".
Dad was more upset by the Unslullied's lack of utility. He's a nitpicking guy with a very good memory, so he was all like: "What the hell, these guys were supposed to be invincible. It's like with the Dothraki all over again".
My 18yo brother isn't very into the show (he watches it sometimes but mostly when he has nothing else to do) but found Drogon's entrance cool. He also observed that "the dwarf is a total badass and will probably bone the hot curly-haired chick".

And I don't know why I never thought of this until now, but: What makes us think he's not already warging into one or more of the dragons? The books suggest that he's already experimenting with contacting others (Ned for example) in the past, possibly attempting to manipulate events. Maybe he's already warging the dragons and some of their behavior (Drogon flying off... Surly captive dragons misbehaving badly... deep frying an Ironborn or two...)
