Oh yeah and the episode was listed for only Adult Content and Adult Language, but Daznak's did have violence. Yeah, in the first round, short guy standing there, then whap, no head. They did that scene so well. My husband and I laughed out loud when that happened, they set it up perfectly XD

I wonder if Dany is still flying when they cut to her in the finale, or if she's already landed?

So if Hizdahr isn't the Harpy, I guess Jhiqui, the Meereenese whore, is.

So, it occurs to me that this episode being the fire to last week's ice we got fire in two different ways. The first fire was used to destroy life, represented in the vicious murder of a little girl. Yet the following scene, fire was used to save lives, represented by the attempted murder of a rag tag group of heroes and the dragon that saved them.

I liked the Hizdahr fake out. There were hints all season that he was the Harpy and this episode they put in the little touch that he was late arriving to the games and Daario being suspicious of him. Then as it looked like he might be leading Dany into a trap during the chaos where Daario was about to go over and take him out, he unceremoniously gets stabbed, letting everyone know he was innocent. Daario's "holy shit, well that's too bad" look as this happens is fucking priceless.
It's nice when you get your expectations subverted sometimes, it keeps the audience on their toes.

I'm watching the rerun and Jorah does touch Dany with his left hand. I really don't think she'll contract greyscale, they didn't focus on the fact that he was touching her. And the shot where she took his hand was just to show that she had regained some of her trust in him.
I'm guessing the actual section of skin that has greyscale on it is what has to touch someone else in order for it to be spread. Like how Shireen only had the greyscale on her face from the doll, as far as I know she didn't have it on her hands as well.

So, this quote has been very important to tonight's episode, in more ways than one, I think...and it's something that goes back to season 2.
Melisandre: "This war is just begun. It will last for years. Thousands will die at your command. You will betray the men serving you. You will betray your family. You will betray everything you once held dear... and it will all be worth it, because you are the Son of Fire. You are the Warrior of Light. You will sweep beside this pretender and that one, you will be King."
Now, we know that "you will betray your family" is pertinent to Stannis in this episode, but I think there was also "You will betray the men serving you" that was actually more significant.
Thousands will die at your command- Wildlings and NW under his command
You will betray the men serving you - by helping the Wildlings
You will betray your family - by not helping them in their time of need as they are all killed or scattered
You will betray everything you once held dear - family, vows, honor, Ygritte
You are the Son of Fire - Targaryen
You are the Warrior of Light. You will sweep beside this pretender and that one, you will be King - all of the other kings are pretenders...but he's not
I don't see this as Stannis at all. I see it as Jon Snow. Sadly, though, it is yet another example of a prophecy meaning one thing and people interpreting it as another...with devastating results.

Yeah, I'm pretty sure it's like a topical infection where only the affected area is contagious. The reason you don't want the Stone Men to touch you at all is because they've got Greyscale everywhere. Jorah has it on his forearm and he is keeping it covered up so he's not infecting every person he touches, otherwise there'd be a lot of rampant greyscale on the loose between Valyria and Meereen.

The only scene I really liked in this episode was Daznak's Pit. It was done very well, from beginning to end. The writing was good, the acting was incredible, even from Emilia Clarke. I liked the little things, like Dany taking Jorah's hand, that was really kinda cute. Drogon's appearance was cool, Dany flying away on his back was freaking epic. I loved it. Arya's stuff was also pretty good, I suppose. But I'm not sure what to think about them turning Mace Tyrell into a complete moron, it was at least fun to watch. So I guess Meryn Trant is not only a horrible human being, but also a pedophile. Whatever, as long as they have Arya kill him good next episode. Jon's stuff was short and uneventful. And wow, I didn't see that one coming: Olly being mad and Alliser Thorne hating Jon, what's gonna happen next episode, I wonder? I don't know what to say about Stannis burning his own little girl to death because of ... reasons? A few episodes ago he was totally like "God no, you fucking crazy bitch! I'm not burning my girl." - And now he's like: "Yeah, we're totes burning her. Snow in the North, who would have thought?" Stannis can die now, I don't care. I feel more sympathy towards Selyse than Stannis, that's for sure. Fucking asshole. Shireen was the cutest, most innocent child character in this entire series, of course she had to die the most horrible death. Sometimes I really wish that I wasn't such a huge fan of this show, it's just too fucking painful to watch stuff like this all the fucking time. Dorne was ... shit. This was such a weak resolution to an even weaker subplot. What were they thinking? How did they come up with this garbage? This has like nothing to do with the books, at all. So what happened is basically, everything in Dorne up to this point has suddenly become irrelevant. Nobody died, Ellaria and the Sand Snakes changed their ways, Ellaria and Jaime are like friends now, I guess? And Doran doesn't seem to have a clue about anything. Trystane on the small council? Yay, can't wait ... Also, am I the only one who thinks that Jaime on the show has lost everything that makes him such a good character in the books? He's not very arrogant anymore, he's actually rather friendly, he's not cynical or sarcastic, he's almost kinda bland. I love Jaime in the books, but I don't have any strong feelings towards Show-Jaime. I didn't like this episode very much.

I loved seeing Braavos at night btw. You can't have a pseudo-Venice in your show, all alleys and canals, without seeing it get all seedy at night.

I thought the same thing when she closed her eyes But alas no.... I've seen several people say they thought she had called Drogon somehow, I took that scene as she was preparing to die. She took Missandei's hand and closed her eyes, to me she thought it was over.

Well I'm still analyzing my thoughts but overall I was less disappointed than I had psyched myself out to be due to the spoiler discussions earlier in the day. At least that helped, hah!
I really was going to throw a book at the screen if Arya did some fumbled poison job on Trant. Now she knows where he is because he said "Same thing tomorrow" to the Madam and she knows what she has to do. It was a good setup. D&D both said it's uncertain whether or not her lie worked with Jaqen in the "Inside the Episode" video interview. What do you all think? The look he gave her, I suspect he caught her lie perfectly and let her tell it. He's testing her more with this than the actual assassination she is supposed to do on the thin man. It's a good way to fast forward the story so I'm ok with it. I think my relief on that helped ease some of the pain of the Shireen scene.
And then the ending. Wow. So much emotion for me because it's a scene I've always waited and hoped to see on a screen somehow one day and like D&D, thought it was one of the best moments of all so I'm glad it was given the attention it deserves. The CGI was only half bad to me (the actual flight parts) - the landing, fighting and all that was perfect. I just kept saying "This is a moment you've waited so long to see" while crying. Couldn't ask for a better high than that after already crying over Shireen I guess. What a fucking rollercoaster of emotions tonight. Wow.
