About the NK.....wasn't he a Stark at one time, before he took a blue-eyed bride? That long, intense locked stare between NK and Jon - holy shit. I 1/2 expected him to just 'will' Jon to jump out of the boat and swim to him. (Not really, but - yeah, really).

As soon as I said I really liked her, I knew she was a goner. I am dying for the Inside the Episode to be posted. They play the Inside the Episode right after the episode on HBO GO. I know, but my HBO GO is down and aggravating to say the least.

So, that Wiling Chieftest wasn't Val after all. Too bad she ended up a Wight, I liked her character. Yeah, I wish should would have made it. But as soon as she told her daughters she would be right behind them, I knew she was a goner. Me, too. Such a shame. Loved it when she said, "I fucking hate Thenns."

Thought it was interesting that even the Wildlings mentioned Ice Spiders, was that a planted seed? I think so, there was a time when I thought the show wouldn't be able to afford giants or at least want to set aside precious budget for them, but not only did we get them in the battle at the wall we got a surprise appearance tonight; that will probably usher in a return for the finale. So all things considered I don't the show would have mentioned Ice Spiders if they didn't intend on trying to actually use them in the show.

Loved it when she said, "I fucking hate Thenns." I'm so bummed she died! She would've been a nice addition to the show. But yeah, her whole Titanic life boat moment with her daughters either made me think they were goners or she was.

I wonder how much budget was left for Daznak after that lol. Can 509 top this?

Yeah of course! There's gotta be a reason they were born other then being cool lol. Maybe I'm crazy but I thought it was confirmed already that valyrian steel kills WW? In the books somewhere? Yes it's straight from the books that only Valyrian steel (or dragonglass) can kill the Others. In fact it's Sam Tarly who found out via all those books. They should have had him tell Stannis that when he visited the library. Here's a great reddit post with all the houses that currently own Valyrian steel (spell forged steel): www.reddit.com/r/asoiaf/comments/21t93e/Edit: While it was not stated in the book as Valyrian steel, dragonsteel was known to have come from Valyria so it wasn't difficult to connect the dots there for book readers. So...how many Valyrian steel swords are there in Westeros, and who has them? Jon, Brienne (what happened to Joff's sword, the other one forged from Ice?) - I'm drawing a blank after those, but surely there are others. [Just a little gripe here before I close this post out. Why does my computer still type Westerns instead of Westeros? After all the times I've had to delete back to correct it, you'd think it would learn.] ETA: Well, if I'd just clicked on the reddit link that Envie provided, I'd have had my answer about Valerian swords left. Great info, and I'm especially fascinated by the idea that Joff's sword, Widow's Wail, will be reforged, along with Oathkeeper, back into Ice!

I wonder.. I think this was a high point for book readers, we know exactly what will happen in the Pit, we're just looking forward to seeing it play out visually. A bit part of the appeal of Hardhome was the unknown and the questions that were both raised and answered in regards to the White Walkers and Winter. The only thing that could really blow us away as much in the next two episodes is a resolution to the Battle of Ice.

I just noticed that Dany added the Targaryens to the spokes on a wheel speech. Interesting...

Then I suppose wherever Dark Sister is lying around.

So there's no Varamyr I guess (unless one of the random Wildling leaders were supposed to be him).
Also Rattleshirt getting bootstomped 60 seconds into the scene was certainly satisfying.

Weird. Wasn't a casting call sent out for Varamyr?

There was a bearded Wildling who poked his head out of his tent at one point. He was the one with all of the dogs tied up around his abode. He seemed like a possible Varamyr because he seemed like a 'named Wildling' that had some screen time cut down and why else would he have so many dogs around if he didn't have a potential warging connection with animals?
