I have zero problems with her hating the shiw but her telling people to kill themselves is gross What is baffling however is why on earth did cogman ever think of her as a friend? She treats the books like they are infallible. She also treats it the show as fanfiction, while GRRM has repeatedly dismissed this notion and has shown nothing but support for the show. I agree Sati. She's entitled to her opinion, but I'm entitled to mine. She's an fucking idiot. Well here's the thing. There's a clear difference between someone (like Sati for example) who loves the ASOIAF universe and creates a fan forum to support the show and give us a place to discuss it and someone like Linda who has actually been endorsed and supported by GRRM himself and has been involved with his actual literature. She's certainly entitled to dislike the show's take on the story the same as Sati - but she's not entitled to use her position and social media leverage to defame and spew hatred at the show, it's creators and other fans on a regular basis the way she is doing. That is slander in the business world and she should be taken down to be honest. She's hurting the credibility of World of Ice and Fire as a direct contributor and business associate. This is inappropriate and if she were a VP in a Corporation and talked like that she'd be fired instantly. You don't shit-talk your company. Period.

PS: I hope anyone on twitter who follows Cogman thanks him for putting her in her place and I hope others are as well. If enough people put pressure on her via positive reinforcement to those who actually have some pull (like Cogman) then maybe they'll finally put a muzzle on her.

It's just sad how a grown woman who is a co-writer of a successful book isn't able to argue and thus throws around insults and threats like a pubescent teenager.

Well with all this Emmy action I think back that season 6 was greenlighted two years ago, and HBO signed contracts for season 7, so now this may mean season 8 is greenlighted. With the Emmy wins does thin mean even bigger contracts for season 8? What does it mean for season 8!?

I wonder about that, does not seem out of the realm of possibility, tho it would be a first for HBO, I think. As I have noted 'Warner' is part of the parent company. Thinking Ep 8, 9, 10 may show up at IMAX early next year.

Imho her trashing the show doesn't do that, but her language and general way she talks to people does

I mean none of it is real, so I guess it's in the eye of the beholder.

Besides, fanfiction is by definition not authorized by the original creator and is not professionally published. GRRM authorized it, so it's not fanfiction. What people mean to say is that the adaptation differs from the source material. Fanfiction is the wrong term for that.

Imho the author has no say when it comes to what is or isn't fan fiction, it's the matter of opinion and his is very, very wrong here. I mean really if that ain't fan fiction then I'm not sure what is.

Yes, because now you are not misusing the word "fanfiction" any longer. When the creator of a story says that the story is canon, then it's freaking canon. Who else should decide that? Now in this case there are two canons: book!canon and show!canon. Neither one is more real than the other. You may prefer one over the other, that's ok. But both have a right to exist.

One was created by Martin, the other was loosely inspired by what he wrote. There is no such thing as two cannons imho unless Westeros is set in parallel universes
