So we're down to 3 episodes left but I'm expecting these final 3 to really be the best "final 3" ever. Between Hardhome/Daznak/Finale I'm expecting to see some epic set pieces and big time events that will change the course of the show forever. So....agree? Disagree? Thoughts? Hardhome should be a doozy and Dany taking flight can go down as the greatest single thing the show has ever seen. Please don't fail me D&D and/or CGI

It'll be pretty hard to top last year's but with a shitload of stuff going on it'll at least make people stop saying "This season is so slow;" "When will it pick up?" etc.

Things I expect to happen: Hardholme obviously Dany goes for a ride Sansa and Theon make like a heart tree and leave Jon gets his get out of the Night's Watch "free" (depends on how you define free) card Sam leaves the Wall with Gilly. Arya making her first kill in Braavos Cersei receiving her punishment perhaps Loras and/or Margarey receiving theirs too? Some type of conclusion to Dorne that will be merciful on the viewers, I hope.
Could be very thrilling if done right.

408-410 were great but could have been beyond epic with some LSH. But I'm just bitter. Grief and bitter longings over here.
I don't think this final 3 will top that though, but we'll have to see!

Arya making her first kill in Braavos Second, if you include the little girl she "tricked"

Yeah there's absolutely no chance that these are better than last year. I'm sure Hardhome will be great but I fear that it may be overhyped. Daznak's will be cool but I'm more interested to see the aftermath.

I don't really have any interest in Hardhome to be honest. I was never fond of any scene involving Wildlings that weren't Ygritte. I'm looking forward to the WW/NK though I also thought The Watchers on the Wall was the worst episode of season 4 so unless they butcher Daznak, it will probably top it for me. Yeah, I'll leave now.

You've crushed my soul twice in one post. Not even Tormund Giantsbane, the Wizard of Wyndham?

I think whether they top 408-10 depends on how the original plotlines that they created will culminate. If the Stannis/Bolton/Sansa/Brienne situation ends well, then I could definitely see this beating out the extraordinary big three of last season.

There were plenty people who disliked it. for me it's the single worst episode of the series. They will easily top the three last year's episode for me this year - while Oberyn/Mountain was spectacular, Stannis' arrival was great and overall 4x08 and 4x10 were entertaining, there were also - battle episode were half is talking not the battle with the worst ending in the show, firecrackers, just an embarrassing departure from the book with almost everything involving the Lannisters and no LSH with that abysmal season ending. This year we have Dany flying, the Walk, for the Watch, Jon actually seeing NK, the wights and Walkers attacking people and for the love of God hopefully LSH. Almost all of those separately are better than what was collectively in final 3 eps last season imho unless they fuck it up, which they are certainly capable of

The last time I looked it had the lowest RT score of all of season 4, so it was definitely not as warmly received as some.

Yeah I remember the day of the episode I was all like fuck yeah with my popcorn and wine and then this boring bullshit happened followed by NO STANNIS and I was mad for...actually, I'm still mad. But then the finale came and its ending was even more disappointing But I see people trashing 4x09 regularly, I don't participate, I just marvel and nod

The Children had an abysmal ending? I thought Arya sailing off was beautiful. Disappointment isn't the same thing as something being bad in my eyes. But then, I've always thought Lady Stoneheart was pure shit.
I get the complaints about 409. I still think it's a fantastic episode that benefited from the focus, and did much to boost the Wall as a storyline. And I think it's pretty undeniable that the battle was a good piece of action filmmaking. And there's no way it's half talking

As for the final three episodes this time, I think they're going to be very good, but they won't live up to 408-410. That said, I have basically no clue what's going to happen for much of the finale, especially with the Northern storyline. I'm so invested in that right now that a lot depends on it. Hardhome looks great though, as does Cersei's imprisonment. I have a feeling "Hardhome" will be the best episode of the season. But then I've always been a big fan of fantasy battles.

I thought Arya sailing off was a terrible way to end the season I thought it would have been hard for them to do worse than Mhysa but D&D are full of surprises.
