I don't really have any interest in Hardhome to be honest. I was never fond of any scene involving Wildlings that weren't Ygritte. I'm looking forward to the WW/NK though I also thought The Watchers on the Wall was the worst episode of season 4 so unless they butcher Daznak, it will probably top it for me. Yeah, I'll leave now. Same! I've never come across anyone who wasn't a fan of 409. I guess there's a first time for everything. Seriously? There were plenty people who disliked it. for me it's the single worst episode of the series. They will easily top the three last year's episode for me this year - while Oberyn/Mountain was spectacular, Stannis' arrival was great and overall 4x08 and 4x10 were entertaining, there were also - battle episode were half is talking not the battle with the worst ending in the show, firecrackers, just an embarrassing departure from the book with almost everything involving the Lannisters and no LSH with that abysmal season ending. This year we have Dany flying, the Walk, for the Watch, Jon actually seeing NK, the wights and Walkers attacking people and for the love of God hopefully LSH. Almost all of those separately are better than what was collectively in final 3 eps last season imho unless they fuck it up, which they are certainly capable of This is pretty much exactly how I feel and yet another reason why I hated season 4. I think the final three this year will easily top last years. There is a lot more suspense and action coming our way then there was the entirety of last season.

The Children had an abysmal ending? I thought Arya sailing off was beautiful. Disappointment isn't the same thing as something being bad in my eyes. But then, I've always thought Lady Stoneheart was pure shit. I thought Arya sailing off was a terrible way to end the season I thought it would have been hard for them to do worse than Mhysa but D&D are full of surprises. Oh come on. How on earth was it worse than Mhysa?

How on earth was it worse than Mhysa? *shrug* Mhysa felt more grand. I hate both scenes, for the record. White Saviour and Arya sailing on a boat were both awful ways to close out two great seasons, I would just put Mhysa slightly above The Children.

5x08-5x10 will definetely top last seasons final three for me. I am predicting I'll give all of them a 10, what makes four tens for this season (High Sparrow and the final 3). Other than that we'll have so many great moments: Theon's weirwood confession, Hardhome, Daznak's Pit, Theon and Sansa escaping, Theon's TWoW sample, Brienne hopefully dying, ADwD epilogue, Walk of Shame, Battle of Ice preparations, Doran's speech, For the Watch, Tyrion getting Barry's job, Jaime hopefully at last rejecting Cersei's letter, unGregor, etc...

And btw, Watchers on the Wall is my all time favourite episode. My least favourite is First of His Name.

^ I agree that WotW is the best episode, but I have First of His Name somewhere in my top 20. For me, I have never felt disinterested while watching Thrones, except while watching The Night Lands.

With the casting news yesterday I don't think Brienne will die. I'm also uncertain about the Weirwood confession. I think it'll be Sansa instead.

I'm not convinced Brienne will be meeting Meribald or Tarly. I reckon that'll be Arya.

I'm looking forward to these three, it will be hard to top last season's final three though. (Except The Children's ending which was completely wrong with the lack of Stoneheart, but I digress)
Hardhome is very intriguing to me, especially after reading that foiler, which yes isn't true but still sounded fascinating. It won't be Watchers on the Wall though.

For me, these final three will be make-or-break, I'm completely biased, and I said in the past I wouldn't be interested in a season* without Stannis, Davos and Theon. Now, I'll also say that I'd quit watching if Stannis sacrifices Shireen (especially because it CAN'T happen in the books, she's not with him there!), and if both, Stannis and Shireen die this season -which I'm beginning to believe- it will be also hard for me to continue. And much depends on how they'll handle Theon in the rest of this season...
If 5x08 - 5x10 will give me Theon's confession at the Hearttree, him being in the end "I'm Theon Greyjoy. You have to know your name", and any ending of the Baratheons' arc other than Stannis sacrificing his daughter, Brienne killing Stannis, aso. - WONDERFUL! BEST EPISODES EVER!
If 5x08 - 5x10 will give me just one disaster after another, sorry, but then I can also just watch what they'll do with Davos/Theon/Euron next seasons on YouTube. If I don't find enjoyment in something, I don't consume it. And if I feel more despair and rage than joy, I rather stop than becoming one of these bitter hate-watchers.
(*Just for the record, since I don't have TWOW, I'd be of course sad about my favourite characters dying in S6, but I'd be "okay" with it, since it could also happen in the books. It's just now a S5-thing for me.)

It's interesting to me when I read all of you debating which episodes and season endings were worse. For me, it's like listening to a strange language or a culture I don't understand, similar with ratings, screen time and actor's names really. For me, the show is a visual extension of my imagination and all the fond memories I have from the books. I don't really translate it well into 'episodes' but then again, I didn't actually read the books as 'chapters' as easily either but character story arcs that go on and on book after book. Therefore, every single episode had super great things I loved and other things I was either meh about or didn't like. I can't really rate them. I'd be a terrible episode reviewer to be honest. I tend to pick out things I loved and hang on them, re-watch them, chew on the implications and details, and of course debate with others what they meant. That being said, I do expect these last three episodes to be epic. It really feels as if most of the season was building up steam and details at least until we got the horrible Sansa wedding, Jon headed to Hardhome, Cersei's arrest and Tyrion finally making it to Meereen. Those (and there are others like Arya) are all going to have epic endings we've all been anticipating and dissecting to death in speculation. This is a weird season and I'll always remember it as the season I bit my nails off for the first half waiting. Haha. Next season anticipation is going to be just godawful. I'm glad I have this therapy group!

I think 508, 509 and 510 will be very strong. 408, 409 and 410 are probably all in my top five episodes of the show though (for sure all in my top ten), so I don't know if I can see them being beaten this year.
s6 though, I think will be the best season of the show. There's something about penultimate books and penultimate seasons of shows for me...they're so often the best.

Same with episodes. The penultimate episodes of a season or a series are usually pretty epic and amazing and then the following finale is a bit of a deflation. The biggest exception which comes to mind for me is Harry Potter. HBP was a bit of a snooze. DH >>>>>>>> HBP.

I've never come across anyone who wasn't a fan of 409. I guess there's a first time for everything. Well, now you've met a few! In all seriousness though, 409 has plenty of detractors. The last time I looked it had the lowest RT score of all of season 4, so it was definitely not as warmly received as some. I have to admit, it was middle of the road episode for me. Not one I loved and not one I hated.

Daznak and Hardhome will be great.
I am not that concerned about Winterfell.
I'm a little concerned about Team Dragonstone.
I'm frothing at the mouth with optimism for Yara and Balon.
I'm concerned about the VFX and CGI work for the Walk of Shame. The technical aspects of how they will recreate an unclothed Cersei from Lena wearing a skin suit with a body double is more daunting than the dragons, due to having to match movements between the body and head, pasting, cutting. They haven't done anything to this extent in the show. I feel like we'll get a lot of far shots and face shots. It could turn out really well, I'm just concerned since we haven't seen them do that. It's difficult enough to do that stuff once in Photoshop, let alone with motion involved.
We'll get more Kevan and Qyburn at the end though +SER ROB FUCKING STRONG which will make it all the better.
I'm concerned about crappy bucket scenes they'll do to kill the moment. AKA, Missandei and Grey Worm stuff.
I'm concerned about the lead up to stabby stabby.
I'm not concerned as much with Dorne now that we're in Doran territory, but I'm concerned about his show!plan.
------
TL;DR: There are better events to work with on the show, but just like Tyrion being introduced to Dany, they can find ways to deflate the balloons.
