Did the show Bri in this episode? Yeah for about 5 seconds. All she did was stand outside of Winterfell with Podrick in the snow and stare at the Broken Tower.

Did the show Bri in this episode? For like three seconds, literally. I don't think I had ever seen a main character get so little screentime in a GoT episode before

No, similar stance but no Pod.

Yes, it was the same. The only difference is it is further along on the same clip used for the trailer. The trailer has a slightly wider shot but 5.07's is zoomed closer on Brienne.

I'm just laughing here - so she is standing in the snowstorm waiting for candle light? Is it really better than Stoneheart, David? Is it, Dan?

Melisandre and Selyse might try to sacrifice Shireen, but Stannis will interfere and perhaps strike Selyse.

Melisandre and Selyse might try to sacrifice Shireen, but Stannis will interfere and perhaps strike Selyse. I want Melisandre and Selyse to die but if 1. Stannis does the deed 2. saves Shireen in the process this is gonna be the most wonderful thing to ever happen on the show But of course van Houten and Cunningham had to flap their traps again and talk about shocking scene and writers needing psychiatric help. I really rather the cast would follow Stephen and stay in the cave.

It's a combination of a 3 second shot and a 5 second shot. The first is behind Brienne's head looking at Winterfell from a closer vantage point. It's actually a really cool image, and the second is the shot from the trailer. It's a very Hollywood pose that makes me wonder how long Brienne's just been standing there, staring at that tower in the snow. Wouldn't that impede her fighting ability if it was lit and she had to run in? It's good though that they re-established Brienne's presence, at least, in some form, even if it's just for 8 seconds.

Myles McNutt made a good point over at A.V. Club. Just like Feast and Dance most of this story is going side-to-side right now ... I mean I can't figure out what Dorne's purpose is in the GRRM's story. From the still we have seems Jamie and Doran have a pow wow with everyone except the SS. There is a still of Doran and Ellaria and the SS submitting to his will? They are off to KL? To do what? The Big Picture story seems to be in the North and whole shebang happens there at least it seems that way. Seems all of Westeros and a good deal of Essos better unite against a common enemy or everybody is toast.

I've thought for quite some time that her appearance this season will be a quick one (probably in the finale, probably indoors and probably set in Pyke) that deals with Balon's death and sets up whatever she's going to be doing in S6. Nothing that's happened this season so far has dissuaded me from this notion. I am beginning to think this way too. When there was no Yara preview in the intro I thought the IMDB entry was a fired blank. (Unless there has been some last min. editing , I don't know why I keep getting that feeling this year.) Could be the Ironborn are pushed off to next year , there is no battle to break the siege of Meereen.) Tho the I don't know what the Iron Born's role is. If George has not created any new major characters (I know the show has skipped over one at least) it's possible season 6 may the last new 'major' cast.

really good episode.
I thought y'all would pick up on the excessive amount of 'promise me?'
gilly said it, sansa said it. i really made the connection as a book reader between lyanna and sansa in that situation i dunno why.

I guess it could be a very vague reference... Gilly making Sam promise to take care of baby Sam and Sansa making Theon promise he'll light the candle - but I dunno if those were intentional or not where quite a few other clues dropped in prior episodes felt certain. We still have absolutely no idea if they are going to even do the reveal or torment us until next season ... or worse. Edit: This was my 500th post, I'm now an honorary Grumpkin yay!

And gilly makes sam promise to look after little sam. the same as lyanna made ned promise he'd looks after little jon

I mean I know they would not have a story (well they don't in the books) but a quick sneak was not out of the question.
