I liked the ominous warning the Maester Aemon gave Gilly, what did he say, "run South, Gillyflower" ?

Because they want Stannis to have a moral dilemma? And of course Melisandre would ask him before attempting something that big Yeah exactly it's a brilliant move to ratchet up the tension in the storyline even more, it creates a genuine conflict within Stannis. People say that he'd never burn Shireen but there is definitely a part of him that could believe it has to be done. And once the slow, painful march becomes a suicide mission that's when he'll consider it. Will be great to see him deciding whether to go through with it or not. Exactly. Not to mention, he knows that Melisandre has performed genuine miracles, that she has real power. And as he said before, "what is the life of a bastard boy, against a kingdom?" Well, what is the life of a single child against a kingdom, even if she is his daughter? Ultimately, I don't think he will go through with it, and it will be a big moment

No Arya, weird. Blivit problems again , how the hell are they gonna cover the story in three episodes?
(No Gemma, IMDB fuzzys again.)

Actually at least this means we can be less fearful about his death, using my super terrible logic. We thought they were building him up as more sympathetic only to kill him off once everyone was rooting for him, but now it seems like they've built him up to do a complete 180 and make us question our judgement again.
But yeah, I think he'll decide against it. Could make for a great scene though.
Holy shit also, what the hell is Davos going to do when he finds out? He will full on try to stab Melisandre in the face. We know what our dramatic head is now.

I have to rewatch to catch all the great bits. I got tunnel vision/ears at the SACRIFICE SHIREEN BIT. Which just leaves me with a terrible feeling about Shireen and Stannis. Note in that scene when Melisandre says she saw a vision of herself walking along Winterfell's banners...she doesn't mention Stannis just assumes that means he wins.

I was dreading the Sand Snakes scene with Bronn after reading that terrible leaked script, but I was pleasantly surprised. I didn't love the scene, but I didn't hate it either. I guess it helped that the other SS were rolling their eyes when Tyene was trolling Bronn Oh Ramsay, Ramsay, Ramsay, Ramsay... you magnificent bastard trueborn son! Reek's loyalty is admirable. And there's your agency, Sansa fans. She had the gall to call Ramsay a bastard right in his face and even had the courage to question his legitimacy. She better get out of there immediately or her mouth is going to be the end of her. I'm surprised she didn't get herself flayed along with the North Remembers lady. Stannis will not burn Shireen. He would sooner kill Melisandre instead. That's what I think this scene was building up to. But I guess that Stannis will spare Shireen's life and lead himself to ruin because of it. I just wish Jon had taken Ghost with him to Hardhome. That's my only nitpick. And when is Sam's going to be taken to Oldtown? I bet Gilly's almost-rape scene was a build up to sending her to Oldtown.

It's been teased for so long. Not doing this would be a bit of a let down. I can't see Davos letting Shireen get burnt. I really can't.

Solid episode. The best so far! I loved Sam getting up again after being put down. He didn't know what he would do but that he had to do something. Nice! And he finally made it official with Gilly. So it does look like he'll leave the Wall with Gilly. It's totally not safe there for her anymore. Although, there'll be a ton of Wildlings around in a bit so maybe they'll stay on anyway. Hard to say. I'm hoping for Oldtown but I can already hear them saying budget, blah blah, resources, blah blah blah.
I thought Dany would react differently to seeing Jorah. Oh well, at least she met Tyrion!!!! We've been waiting for that for a whole book and from the sounds of what Martin hinted, it will be an entire other book's worth of waiting for that to happen. Btw, did Daario give Dany such bad advice in the books? I want to say know but perhaps I just don't remember.
And Sansa. Well, I expected her to show that she wasn't the old Sansa and she did but I nothing that I had anticipated for this episode happened. I didn't expect Ramsey to have her locked up. Where could she go, for Pete's sake? I'm wondering how word will ever get to Brienne and even if it did, what would she do? And moving further north, Melisandre is up to her old tricks and trying burn the innocent. I don't know what to think about Shireen. Could Mel lose two sacrifices? That's just plain sloppy.
Finally what's the gift LF has for Olenna? After watching this episode, I'm wondering how the Faith will be destroyed, both on the show and the books. The HS seems very confident. They look much more powerful that I'd initially thought. I'm really curious to see where this will go.

I personally think that fact that they finally laid out the Shireen proposal actually makes it less likely it happens. Stannis will ultimately decide against it and it will cause him strife (perhaps Melisandre as well). I doubt they put this choice on the table now if the result was going to be in a couple episodes to have Stannis say "y'know what? You're right, let's burn her."
This is to give the decision stakes and to build up the dramatic decision that he's going to have to make later. I think if this was going to happen, it would take place very quickly over the course of an episode to preserve the shock value.

The vibe I got from the Stannis-Mel scene was one of contempt. It seemed to open up the possibility of her returning to Castle Black if he won't listen to her and then...

Brienne, think I see where that's going, but with 3 eps left I don't know how to elaborate.
Are all the rest of the episodes like 60 min. ?

I felt for Reek/Theon when he climbed those stairs and there was Ramsay waiting for him. It followed very naturally, I think, that of course he confessed all to Ramsay--cripes, so would I, right after I peed myself and passed out in terror. I think that set-up was so well done, because now when Theon actually does step forward to help, the stakes have been raised even higher, the terror level ratcheted up exponentially. Nicely done.
