I know she's a Frey and all, but I don't blame her for her bad family and I kinda have a soft spot for Walda now. They really played her up more than I expected and it works! Man, I hope nothin' bad happens to her ... and by proxy, the little baby Bolton. Gah I never thought I'd say something like that! I always had a little soft spot for Walda and Rosalyn because they seem like decent girls stuck in a crazy family. Most of the reason we think they're nice is that they haven't said much or been allowed to make any decisions. Walda has a pleasant smile, but we have little idea what is going on inside her head. I see her as a victim in this whole mess, and while I think her murder is inevitable, I don't cheer for it. But we haven't actually seen evidence that she's a nice person. We have just seen that she knows how to act pleasant around unpleasant people. Which, granted, seems to be a rare skill in Westeros.

Walda might be a stoneheartcold bitch underneath, but even if she was, I'd still consider her a victim. She's very submissive (someone pointed that in the dinner scene she didn't really say anything until prompted) which is obviously a product of her upbringing and it's doubtful she's had any say in anything at all.

I have a feeling, based on the way old Walder treated all his wives and daughters, women in the Frey clan never had much say nor were they of any real particular value other than breeding and alliances, sadly. Walder was perfectly willing to accept Catelyn killing his wife and she was just a girl. She meant nothing to him other than a new toy for a sick old man. So with that knowledge, I would say the Frey women are definitely victims and Walda is probably just happy to have been chosen by Roose, all things considered. She's elevated to the wife of the Warden of the North - that's a pretty good deal even though book Roose was much creepier than show Roose so it's a much different situation for show Walda too. It doesn't appear she's being mistreated too badly though I highly doubt Roose is 'kind' to her - I don't get the feeling he's doing anything like Ramsay does either. She smiles and talks when spoken to and doesn't seem downtrodden or victimized so I'm going to just imagine in my head Roose is actually being civil with her. He's 'doing his duty' and getting an heir on her because he wants his house name to go onward and needs a backup plan in case trying to keep Ramsay in line fails (which looks like it's failing).

im not too convinced sansa will play roose. i think roose will realise he can't control ramsay and he may decide to have him killed anyway. i mean i'm pretty sure he'd like that to happen in the books.
I don't think roose is as careless as ramsay. he does his 'duty' and probably doesn't hurt Walda at all He knows when and where to be cruel.

I feel like the show is trying to make us give up all hope for the Starks but gutting all hope for them then just have a 180 reversal so we're surprised.

Love that song! There's another "Howl" (Florence and the Machine) done as a tribute to Arya ... I'll raise you one howl for another - this will be your revenge agent right here. Arya Stark.

Very awesome song and video! Loved it Florence + the Machine & GoT always makes an amazing combo, I still think the "Seven Devils" trailer was the best trailer of all.

So now we can add the Random Northern Old Lady to the list. I must say I was very sad for her. Usually don't care for character made up for the show, but she died in a horrible way.

I remember in one of the promo speculation / prediction threads here last week where everyone was wondering what Sansa was looking up at in terror and crying about ... I was in agreement with whoever said they thought maybe the old lady gets it. Damn, I didn't expect that to actually be true! Sansa's fighting though... don't forget that ... she's fighting for her life and to wake up Theon ...

I like Theon on the books but his active betrayal of Sansa this week hurt a lot. I know he's been tortured and all that but I don't like him at all (not criticizing the show here, I think it was meant for us to be angry at him for that)

It's such a trainwreck tragedy. I'm actually surprised they went this route because I thought they were going to have him 'rescue' her much sooner and that would sort of ruin the enormity of his confession and redemption. He's still wallowing in that pit right now and wrestling with his demons. Did he go up into that tower with the candle intentionally to betray her or did he not know Ramsay was up there? Either way, it's just another layer of his onion peeling away bit by bit.

On the first episodes I thought "ok, Sansa will play Ramsay until this old lady does something to help her and Theon conveniently gets back to his self, maybe Brienne gets involved somehow and dies" Now I'm like "Ok I know Sansa will live and Theon will turn good, but how will that play?"

Good call on that Sati ... there really was something much worse Sansa was crying about than just Ramsay kissing her. I remember saying "They already had Joffrey torment her by forcing her to look at her Father's head...how much worse could it get?" Honestly, they are going overboard with the Sansa victimization.

Please, I don't want to hear Sansa and agency in the same sentence anymore unless it's Sansa starts her own advertising/accounting/real estate/detective agency in a bizarro episode of Game of Thrones.
I'll just say at least she has not been fully beat down yet by Ramsey but I am hating the fact that she is going to need rescuing and not by herself. Trusting Theon was completely stupid on her part at this point. Since he made a beeline right to Ramsey. I have a feeling she is going to spend the next couple of episodes trying to get him to come to his senses until their eventual escape and chase by Evil Frodo. Yes, she grabbed a shiv of some sort. Yes, she trolled Evil Frodo about his status given to him by another bastard. Do you really think she gets to kill Evil Frodo? No. The Starks need some avenging at this point. Sansa in Winterfell is not doing it for me. It just feels like a pile on of that family.

It was filmed ambiguously to make it seem like he was going up the stairs of the tower, but he wasn't.

Somehow it reminded me of Shutter Island's lighthouse scene. Sansa & Stannis will start to clean up the North in S6 and Sansa's revenge arch continues until the end imo. She might even survive this.
