Compared to other Episode 6's, I think Unbowed, Unbent, Unbroken is probably the weakest. A Golden Crown was definitely the strongest. The Old Gods and the New had the Riot of King's Landing but had "Where are my dragons", The Climb had the Littlefinger and Varys monologue but had more Theon torture, and The Laws of Gods and Men had Tyrion's trial but Yara's failed rescue attempt.

IMO it was better than 206 and 306. I'd rank 406 above 106 too. That'd make 506 the third best ep. 6 for me.

For me, The Laws of Gods and Men is pretty close though to A Golden Crown. The only reason I thought it was slightly weaker was because of The Dreadfort scene, but Tyrion's trial was amazing.

At the risk of sounding like someone whose overly-obsessed with the show and with way too much time on his hands...I'll disclose that I've seen the ep. four times already.

I give it an easy 8. Good content. Great content. The North is awesome, as ever. Even if its cringeworthy as fuck with Ramsay's creepy smiles. Doran Martell is as ever a fucking badass. The sand snakes still come off as weak though. More hype than content. The Kings Landing series has just got a hundred times more interesting. Yep, a solid 8 for this one

Why the hate for "where are my dragons"? Overall, Qarth was pretty bad because of the writing. They tried to make it more interesting by killing nearly everyone except Dany and Jorah, but I think they struggled a bit on how to get from the Birth of the Dragons to Dany arriving in Slaver's Bay.

Why the hate for "where are my dragons"? Because it was terrible. And started all the Emilia Clarke is a bad actress shit. She was not great in season 2, but considering what they gave her to work with it's not suprising. When she's given good material she shines.

Qarth is only 3 chapters in the books, and one of them is the incredible HotU (which the show butchered). They just weren't up to the task of finding something for Dany to do for an entire season. It's still my least favorite part of the show. Although Dorne is closing in.

Yeah, they did butcher the HoTU, but I guess at the time they didn't know which visions to include or they spent a majority of the budget on Blackwater. I'm not sure, Dany's scene with Drogo and Rhaego however was still very emotional and definitely seemed like it was foreshadowing her fate. Also, after a second watch, I would agree with Konradsmith that this episode was stronger than 206 and 306.

The birthmark scene actually having relevance later and turning out not to be just filler is the most hilarious turn of events ever I'm one of those who criticized the birthmark scene - but moreso because I've grown so weary of how they've chosen to portray Loras overall (arrogant gay guy) instead of the much deeper character he was in the books. But I was pleasantly surprised the birthmark actually had a purpose so I retract any criticisms of it. I never use the word filler though, so that wasn't me. I hate that word with a passion from westeros.org where it's thrown around as much as 'white-washed' as word-of-the-day like you're somehow somebody knowledgeable if you use those catch phrases. I gave the episode a 9. I almost bumped it down to 8 because of the sand snake fight scenes and then just decided to roll with it because there have been a few other fight scenes that were pretty hokey in my book so I just pass it off as one thing the show creators aren't really that spectacular at doing. They should hire the team that does them for The Walking Dead because man those are some great ones, and I'm not just talking about gory zombie gags. The fights between real people are very well done. They taught Lennie James how to look like a master with a staff in a short period of time ... surely they could have done better with the sand snake girls. Maybe it's just the team they have for stunts on that? I will not dock any points for the final scene. As upsetting as it was, it was tastefully done - no nudity for Sophie (sorry guys, she's way too young in our eyes for that) and so masterfully acted by Alfie Allen, I just cannot hate on the episode because of that last 5 minutes.

I have to go with the majority with this episode. So I'll give it an 8.
The episode was well paced and very entertaining. We are certainly preparing for the 3 super fast and shocking episodes. Loras's trial was interesting and I thought it was quite good. In my opinion Margaery being arrested because of a false testimony works. Tommen is a very weak king. Jorah and Tyrion were entertaining. Bronn and Jaime were hilarious. Ah, Dorne. Doran & Areo are quite fine. Trystane and Myrcella are ok, we didn't really hear much of them in the books. They were just a cliche teenage couple. Sandsnakes were horrible. I was going to give this episode a 9, but Tyene's horrible footwork and blocking a sword with a dagger takes it heavily down. Obara's facial expressions are so bad that they're beginning to be quite hilarious, in a bad way.
The controversial Winterfell.. Sansa verbally slapping Myranda was great and inspiring. She looked gorgeous in her wedding dress. The wedding was tense and Theon's comment about "who was her father's ward" were quite sad. The wedding night.. oh boy.. a tough scene to watch, but I think that the show did it in relatively good taste. The Sophie and Alfie made the scene absolutely horrifying (this is a compliment to both actors) and Sansa's cries were heartbreaking.
Good episode. I'll give it an 8.

oh come on nobody saw the birthmark being used in the trial coming?
Loras shouldn't even be on trial lol and it was a lame way to get margery arrested.

The birthmark thing is something that reminds me of really bad soap operas, where nasty evil woman claims that she has had sex with somebody because she knows certain features in their private parts.

I rewatched it.
Not sure yet about the rating, though.
Obara Sand - "I am Obara Sand..." Didn't come that unanticipated that she was bested by Areo Hotah. She sounded so much like a spoiled kid.

Thought it was a strong episode although probably weakest so far this season. Thought the visuals in the godswood for wonderful and appropriately haunting. My thoughts on ep below if anyone is interested. hitsville.co.uk/tagged/tv
