I feel kinda sorry for the girls who play the Sand Snakes now. There was an article linked on the official GoT facebook page a few hours ago, about how the one who plays Obara has mastered the fighting style or whatever, and all the comments, and I mean literally every single one, is extremely negative. I don't blame the actresses, especially because in interviews, they seem really passionate about the material, I think they were just horribly miscast. Also the costumes kinda suck, the fighting choreography is poor, and the writing and editing of all the Dorne scenes so far has been horrendous, to the point where it almost seems like a freaking parody. I don't know what went wrong here, Dorne in the books has a sombre atmosphere to it and the storyline itself is kinda slow paced and subtle, in the show, they have turned it into a dull revenge plot with almost no substance to it. I think they were trying to 'milk' the coolness factor of the Sand Snakes a little bit too much, and in the process, they have turned them into caricatures. Yeah, it must be painful for them to see the broadly negative reception. I'm not even sure they were miscast - they've had barely any lines and no good ones, the fight scene wasn't done properly, and their material has been so rushed that it doesn't make much sense. It all just seems under-resourced. And there was a big fan backlash to merging Arienne with Elaria and spending time in Dorne instead of the Iron Islands, so there was unusual negativity about the arc going into the season. It really doesn't seem like the specific actresses are more than 10% of the problem. The producers should have realized they had a weak Dornish arc going and shouldn't have hyped it as much in the pre-season promotion. It also sounds like many of the fight sequence issues were related to constraints from shooting in the location they chose for the Water Gardens, and somebody early in the process should have picked a different location with fewer constraints. Wasn't that a big part of the problem with Jon's adventures north of the Wall in earlier seasons too? The Dornish stuff should get better going forward. The Bronn / Tyene scene might be bad (though it could be fun and sexy, who knows). But then Doran should get a few good scenes to end out the season. And in season 6, the sand snakes will be diluted into other arcs and locations and will have meaningful things to do so they should work a lot better.

I still Jessica Henwick is okay. Yeah, I thought she did fine. She just looks too much like Miley Cyrus To me the only one who screwed up in the fight scene was Rosabell (Tyene). Keisha actually swings that spear pretty well, it's just the delivery of her lines that sucks. Her attempts to look grumpy are too forced. It's possible that it's not her fault and she's a good actress. We know Indira Varma is good but she sucks this season. I guess they have a terrible accent instructor. Dorne can still be salvaged if they put the Sand Snakes aside for a while and focus on Doran, Areo and Trystane, who have done their jobs pretty well so far IMHO.

I think Jessica Henwick is the best of the three (idk if she's Nym or Tyene, I get them mixed up). She managed to make fighting with a whip look not-ridiculous so she gets some bonus points there. The other one who's not Obara though, lawd. Double daggers should be the most badass, but nope. She just doesn't fit. And then KCH's perpetual grumpy face and terrible accent are just... not good.

I honestly don't mind Snakes at all except for Obara, her voice and delivery annoys the shit out of me

Oberyn was immensely popular last season. The actor they chose, his swagger, his oozing sexuality and dangerously dark threats were all so perfect for the show and they hit a home run. They decided "we need to capitalize on this!" and tried to make the sand snakes into his gorgeous protege avengers and it flopped - pretty badly. I'm sure they are painfully aware of this by now.

If D&D planned on giving the Sand Snakes a big role next season, I hope they'll now reconsider. Horrific stuff. I'm still having nightmares of Tyene's little stepping and blocking a sword with a dagger.

I don't imagine they'll do much fighting in KL though.

Nym is. And Tyene's hooking up with the Faith. Hopefully the show will just have Tyene/Nym joining the small council or something. Jessica Henwick is very charismatic, so I could see her becoming a more watchable character with the right material. She's said in interviews that Nym is the most politically astute of the three, so it's pretty likely, I'd say, that she will go to KL in the show.
I can't tell whether or not Laurenti-Sellers is a decent actress at this point, she hasn't been given enough to do yet, but I know she'll have some fans after this Sunday... She has an innocent look to her too, so I wouldn't be surprised to see her dressing up as a Septa in s6.
As for KCH and Obara, without Darkstar to hunt down, I really don't know what she'll get up to in the future. She's had the biggest role so far and has gotten the worst reception from the audience, but I don't think the showrunners will just quickly find a way to write her out because of the backlash. They just have to improve how she's written and KCH has to improve how she's playing her, both of which are very possible.

I am quoting an Unsullied here, who I guess made a very good point:
"So what was Cersei's urgent summons to LF all about? He did all the talking."
Didn't think of that. Her letter does seem pretty stupid now.

I'm quite sure LF put Olyvar forward as a witness. I hope they explain this when Olenna & LF meet.

I'm quite sure LF put Olyvar forward as a witness. I hope they explain this when Olenna & LF meet. I think they will. That would explain their "the past is the past" and "they won't even find what's left of you" banter. Maybe he'll tell her about Lancel to make things even between them?
Keep in mind also that we only saw a section of Cersei and LF's conversation, not the beginning and maybe not even the end. It was cut to without seeing him walk in or anything, so it's quite likely that they discussed things to do with her scheming but they weren't shown so that it would be more surprising when Olyvar walked into the inquest and that info was used to take down Marge.

I still hadn't talked to any Unsullied about this season, and just now entered a forum of theirs... Man, everybody is hating Dorne. They all think Olenna will save the day in KL, and most of them are pretty pissed about the Sansa scene.
