I haven't watched the episode but I gave in to the temptation to watch Stannis's scenes. Interesting stuff really. Stannis's tactics against the cavalry were a bit stupid, but never mind.. Is Brienne dumb or what? She called Renly the rightful king, what the fuck? Renly had no right whatsoever. I don't think that Stannis is dead, no way would D&D kill him like that. Now I can say that Stannis's story line was quite extremely shitty compared to it's book counterpart. No way they'd kill him like that? D&D? They treated his character like trash I'd me more surprised if he was alive. Part of me is sad because he died and part is mad because that was such a shitty death scene (Brienne?? Really? And for Renly after all this time don't get me started) and Shireen was for nothing. But I'm also happy because we don't have to watch the character be ruined anymore. Mixed emotions over here. But I am upset. All I'm really worried about is what this means for book Stannis. But that's for another thread I suppose. At least if book Stannis dies in the Battle of Ice it won't be for fucking Renly, for god's sake. And certainly not Brienne of fucking Tarth. |

If Stannis really did die, that would have been the most anti climatic death scene ever. They really should have shown the battle scene.. geez

Yes yes, I get it that Stannis deserves a tragic and bitter death, but his downfall was so quick and lame.

R'hllor bless this thread and all its beautiful gifs!  IF this WOULD happen, this would be even worse than another most favourite character of mine's death 2 weeks ago, in my most favourite TV show (won't say the name because of spoilers), who was also killed by one of my other favourite characters; and I'm still crying :sad: because of that - Stannis/Brienne would be even MUCH worse, in fact the worst. However, I don't think this will happen. It can't happen. It simply can't... right? No I don't think so. No way Brienne would be able to get that close to him to be able to fight him he's with a damn army. Unless she demands single combat but...nah I just don't see it. If that was even hinted at I'd have to stop watching the show I think lol. Besides, Brienne has to meet Jaime again first right? Right??Bahaha look at me. My innocence is gone. Ruined. I'm so mad. |

We didn't see him physically die because it jump cut, but the last thing he said to Brienne was "Do your Duty." It's possible that Pod interrupted her just before doing it by saying that Sansa lit the candle. |

Like Fire and Blood said, Stannis no longer has a point to be alive. This is mostly because his army is destroyed on the show. What can he do now?

Gwendoline Christie has said in a couple of interviews that Brienne killed Stannis. And the character bio on HBO says he is dead It also says that Jon was murdered so it can be a lie, but I honestly doubt it. |
