Now, even I, and I'm so bad noticing foreshadowing, realize that whole 'light the candle in the tower' will lead to some big dramatic scene. We did see Brienne looking at WF so I bet we get a scene of her rushing there with Pod trying to keep up. What do you think prompts Sansa to light that candle? She will be raped already, Ramsay still needs her so he won't kill her...what if he locks her up like lady Hornwood, was it?

He essentially locked up Jeyne as well, though that doesn't necessarily mean he'll do that to Sansa. If so, I imagine she'll get Reek to light the candle for her. As of now though, I still think she'll be allowed to walk around the castle post-wedding night. Just not allowed on the walls maybe. If only because I want her and Reek to meet in the Godswood at some point.
Actually if the old friend in the 508 summary is Pod, which seems likely given that TV Guide's version of the summary says "meets" instead of "confronts", I think she'd have to have mobility around WF because there'd be no reason for him to go to her chambers.
I think it will be prompted by the wedding night though. Since I think that's the last time we'll see her in 506, it'd make sense for her reaction (trying to signal to her "friends in the North") would come in 507 and BriPod's response to it (Pod infiltrating the castle) in ep. 508 following that.

Yes, it will probably be something horrible happening in her wedding night. And I think Brienne will send Pod to infiltrate Winterfell, as Roose already knows Brienne and would be suspicious of her, but Pod will fail horribly and die horribly. I kinda want to see Pod flayed alive. The Boltons really need to kill a known and sympathetic character, and Pod is a character that everybody likes who makes no difference to the story, so killing him could be interesting. Brienne would go ape shit and do something really stupid, but I don't think she'll get herself killed yet.

I also think it'll be the wedding night. Maybe she'll also decide to withdraw to that tower. For her own safety. And because of the candle. (And Bran.)
But that house where Pod and Brienne are staying right now seems to be quite away from WF.
And we don't know whether the old man gets to deliver the letter Brienne talks about.

Hm, I'm still not sure about Pod...it's just that I cannot imagine why call him "friend" in synopsis? Then again they called White Walker "an older gentleman". Did Pod every interact with Sansa when she was in KL? I seem to recall him walking after her and Tyrion in Mhysa episode

That was the best synopsis of all time But no, Pod and Sansa never interacted before, so yeah I don't know if he can be the "friend" of the synopsis.

And that involves serving him and Sansa. We didn't see that much of that though.

They never interacted significantly on-screen but she would certainly recognize him. Whether or not they ever had a proper conversation or not, they likely spent a good deal of off-screen time around one another in the downtime between eps. 308 and 402.
If Pod were to die though, I'd see it more as being part of the escape (like those wildling girls who got killed freeing Reek'n'Jeyne in ADWD) rather than him failing and being punished.

It just irks when the show never bothered to give two characters an exchange of dialogue and then goes 'we spent so much time together'

Wow, I completely forgot he was Tyrion's squire before joining Brienne! Of course they interacted before! To quote the imp himself: "There has never been a more loyal squire." ("Breaker of chains" S04E03) This is why I said "in character". EDIth: stupid typos....

They've certainly lingered on that tower this episode. I am sure on one level it was to remind people that is the tower Bran "fell" from but also because some other important plot point is going to happen there. I agree with you all, I believe she will light the candle in response to her wedding night or she manages to break through with Theon and realizes she is in grave danger there, even if she has not personally seen Ramsey at his worst. Although if the spoilers for her wedding night are true, what goes down alone should be enough for her to realize her situation is not going to improve.
I really do have a feeling that Pod could die, whether it is as Nezzer said: sympathetic character flayed alive or in an escape attempt, I don't have a good feeling about his future.
Could Sansa's meeting with an old "friend" be a conversation with Theon when Theon actually peeks through and not Reek?

Definitely the wedding night. I, too think she'll be able to walk around and not be locked in her room like Jeyne. I think Roose would make sure of that. I'm sure Pod gets sent in, and he is the "old friend." I mean, look who Sansa is hanging around now. She'd be delighted to see Pod.

I wonder if the trailer shot of Brienne and Pod in the snow is them finally seeing the signal from Winterfell.

I think Brienne will send Pod to infiltrate Winterfell, as Roose would recognize her from Harrenhal.
Pod will fail in his attempt and gets flayed by Ramsay (Roose will flay LF). Brienne finds out somehow and decides to go in by herself. While she is inside the castle, she spots Theon and Sansa escaping. Brienne decides to help them and dies, shot by Ramsay with an arrow. Theon and Sansa escape to Mannis' camp.

Still, someone relevant has to die in the Winterfell storyline, and I'd prefer if Pod or Brienne died instead of the other more prominent characters.
