BTW, 5x06 should have been named The Prince of Winterfell instead of Unbowed, Unbent, Unbroken. Ramsay's and Sansa's wedding was way more bigger event than the crap that was Jaime & Bronn vs Sand Snakes. They already used the Prince of Winterfell in season 2 tho.

Well the hate watchers claim that the title was a distasteful pun at what happens to Sansa... :/ As for the title not being a big deal - it was released incredibly late this year. Also \previously on/ is no longer released early. They are the most secretive they have ever been since beginning of the show

I still think your "lazy intern" theory was the correct one, joke or not.

Okay.
I believe LSH could be in. There are too many things that say she is. Also some that say she ain't.
But I won't hype it, because then it will ruin the finale for me, like it did last year.

Ramsay's and Sansa's wedding was way more bigger event than the crap that was Jaime & Bronn vs Sand Snakes. I can't find the interview snippet now (I thought it was in the "Inside the Episode" clip but it's not) - but somewhere out there, I saw a bit by Benioff where he said, and I'm loosely paraphrasing here forgive me: "The title Unbowed, Unbent, Unbroken is somewhat ironic in that a lot of characters are actually being brought to their lowest point in the story..." so they do actually put some thought into the symbolism of the titles. I don't think the titles reflect one scene or one character though - I think it's a loose reference to overall theme. I listed out a bunch of things that would relate to the episode finale title with that in mind. I think we as dedicated fans should try not to lay all our gold dragons on one scene or pivotal moment as the Mother's Mercy but instead discuss themes and symbolism of the season as a whole since this is really about wrapping up all of the episodes and the season. I'm only trying to defray some of the heat about possible Stoneheart implications. Whether or not the writers chose the title intentionally or not, it seems rather unlikely at this point she's going to be in the show. I've resolved myself to that and if by some rare chance she shows up, even as just a cameo or something, then I'll be pleasantly surprised instead of disappointed if she doesn't.

Joanna Robinson is a LSH fan. She was shocked that Stoneheart didn't appear in 4x10 finale. She's just responding the same way that other LSH fans are to the title. You can't take every reference to motherhood as a reference to LSH. There are lots of important mothers this season: Cersei, Olenna, Dany, and even Selyse and Ellaria. Cersei is appealing for Mother's Mercy, Olenna has been appealing for mercy for her grandchildren all season, Dany and Selyse are turning away from mercy to fire and blood, and Ellaria or might get to give (or hear from Doran) her awesome book speech about mercy for the sake of the children. And Arya's murders are referred to by the shorthand of "mercy". Mother's Mercy doesn't even make much sense as a reference to LSH. Catelyn Stark was a mother, but LSH isn't one. LSH is focusing on killing Freys rather than tracking down Arya and Sansa. And LSH isn't merciful. I agree that the creators probably did know / should have known that people would think of LSH with that title. But the Walk of Shame is a huge moment that it sounds like they really cared about getting right. They've been talking about it from really early on, saying that Cersei was always portrayed fully clothed so that the Walk of Shame would have maximum impact. It sounded like a huge deal to film it with the huge crowd. I don't blame them for wanting the episode title to refer to that set piece. And most Cersei-related titles could be easily misconstrued as LSH-related titles.

There has been a lot of symbolism revolving around family and the importance of loyalty to your house and even, I daresay, strong female power themes - both good and bad in this season. Sansa's empowerment is the only one I have some niggling issues with and I have continued to hold my tongue on it until we see where the story is going for her because we absolutely cannot know what Sansa's endgame role is to be able to say what's happening to her right now is unnecessary or wrong not even based on the books. I am not justifying the terrible things they've put her through - it's broken my heart to see her battered and bruised ... but I hold out hope that this is something greater than any of us can see from our small vantage point this season. Much love y'all.

But yeah, motherhood has been a big theme with Sansa as well. I really hope they pull off Sansa's arc this season and beyond.

- Olenna being a mother won't come into play - Cersei is referred in the title, maybe Selyse - the way Ellaria is in the show there is no way she gives that speech - Arya's mercy scene is not in finale but sooner - Sansa getting pregnant would honestly be too much - I believe in finale we won't see Dany until she lands in DS
So Cersei and maybe Selyse. That's 2.

I never listed Sansa getting pregnant in my top 10 "Mother's Mercy" list, others have, and I do not think that's going to happen. You're right - it would be over the top for most fans already on top of the continued abuse theme with her. My top three themes were Cersei, Arya and Ellaria (based on her kneeling scene). Where are you predicting Arya's mercy scene will be played? I can't keep up on all the scene prediction posts based on casting and synopsis info - you guys are far faster at sniffing that stuff out!

Oh and Mother's Mercy for Margaery too. I don't think Loras is going to get any (sadly) but Margaery will beg for Mother's Mercy too.

Will they have Margaery doing a Walk as well? I have no clue what the punishment for perjury would be.

They're reserving that for Cersei because of her insane pride. Perjury probably means getting whipped until you beg for mercy ... "Mother's Mercy" haha.

They have SO much to cram into these last three episodes ... my head is spinning!

I still think your "lazy intern" theory was the correct one, joke or not. I'm pretty sure Dave Hill came up with the episode titles this year. I know that Cogman came up the episode titles for s1 and since Dave Hill is basically in the s1 Cogman position now of being one of their former assistant who writes one ep. a year, I'd say it's probably him coming up with the titles.

They have SO much to cram into these last three episodes ... my head is spinning! If they pace the next three well, it's going to be like one extended finale. I can hardly stand it, and I can't even make eye contact with the unsullied I watch the show with or I will just spill all my beans. If LSH does appear, how does the timeline work? I assume we get a flashback to her being resurrected or perhaps she just shows up with the BWB, and we learn that vengeance is what the BWB has been up to since the Red Wedding. I mean, they wouldn't actually revive her all these months later, right? A body in the water that long would be unrecognizable.
