Elio is probably crapping himself and banning people/deleting posts because oh my what if HBO won't send him more stuff. There is no talk about it there so I assume the mods are working overtime - eg. actually doing something for a change - and censoring what they can. ..and here we are talking without any censorship. We also have a better atmosphere and dare I say, better users. Well we have a closed board here. Also no one is uploading any actual content from the eps and there is no law prohibiting talking about these things. The mods over at westeros and WotW delete the comments not because they actually got any notice from HBO but because they don't want to use the access they have. |

I read elsewhere that the leaker is threatening to upload episodes 5 and 6 also. It's unlikely that they actually have them and they're just playing games, but still. HBO will be pitching a fit right now and multiple people are getting fired.

Screeners. The leaker has also gone to the trouble of blurring the watermark to avoid identification. Although I'm hopeful that HBO had some extra, inbuilt protection that they can't see. Like, idk, a random combo of pixels which are off-colour or something.

So far it just looks like it's one of the people who got the screeners but if it's ep. 5 and 6 also, that would be an inside job or the kind of shit like that Sony leak in December. Still the show is so huge people will still tune in but if it was something even bigger like leaking the finale, that would be serious. I wonder how anyone at HBO couldn't see this coming. They did. They tried to prevent this from happening by making sure that each individual screener had a uniquely identifiable watermark as a means to prevent leaks because then they would know who it was. But obviously whoever did it bypassed that before leaking. I mean, it sucks that this happened, but HBO actually went to more effort than most to try and prevent it. The watermark thing is something that few (if any) movie studios even bother with when sending out screeners. |

Probably most who watched the leaks will also tune in to the premiere, and there will be loads out there who either: a) didnt watch the leaks, or b) didnt even know about them (seriously, if not for me signing up to this board I wouldnt have a clue.) Anyway, my sympathy is limited when it comes to such large multimillion dollar companies taking a loss  especially when its partly due to their own fault |
