There is a lot of merging going on this season and a big question mark is Brienne. All we get so far from the footage released we haven't seen yet is the shot of Bri and Pod in the snowstorm. Place your bets on what becomes of Brienne in the series!

She could be the show's version of the 'hooded man in Winterfell'. Brienne could be even camping near Winterfell and take on some kind of Mors Umber role. I still think that she joins Stannis on the orders of Sansa.

I wish Stoneheart would just come back!  I do think she helps rescue Sansa though. And eventually joins Stannis, hopefully putting aside her feelings for what happened to Renly when she realizes Stannis is one of the "good lords left" |

For a bit I thought she might take Yara's role and get captured by Stannis but if Yara is in then that's not happening.
Now I'm voting for joining Stannis. I like Brienne so I hope she doesn't die and I still think she'll meet Jaime again but who knows.

After watching the first 4 episodes, I'm done with LSH concept. They are doing something very different in the show with Brienne and Pod.
I do believe next season we'll get the Frey's but bringing back LSH 3+ full seasons later is too late.

I think her TV role is to kill Stannis. The show needs to get rid of all the minor characters since there are only 2 seasons left. I wish it was to join LSH  |

Next season we'll see the Freys in trouble and hopefully the Blackfish will appear. |

After watching last nights ep I got worried about Stannis again. But then I realized its probably not going to happen, she's going to join him. Or die trying to kill him.
They already made it very clear for like 12 seasons now that she wants to protect Sansa. Now they throw in to remind everyone that she wants to avenge Renly. But when push comes to shove I believe without a doubt she'll join with Stannis to protect Sansa when she gets to Winterfell. That scene last night was probably just a red herring. My Stannis bias is probably showing but oh well lol.

I think it's more that she'll have to decide which vow is more important, killing Stan or saving Sansa, and that she'll decide that her obligation to Sansa matters more and deliver her to him safely despite having huge misgivings about doing so. But then, who the fuck knows.
The Brienne-Stannis business, I think, is being set up too obviously to be something that results in Bri getting her revenge. If Stan were to die by her hand, I think they'd underplay it instead and make a surprise of it. As it is, my guess is that they're setting her up to make a hard decision to spare him for Sansa's sake.
That's not to suggest though that I think Stan will live too much longer BTW. I like him a ton but he won't live forever. I've never thought he'd win the Battle of Ice TBH. Just that I think someone less deserving than Bri will be the one to get him.

Stannis dying by Brienne's hand would be disconcerting for me because I expect him to have a huge part to play in the wars to come. (heh) I always thought he'd die doing something heroic. Having him offed by Brienne would suck. She should turn her vengeance towards Mel since she made the shadow baby.

Stannis will most likely win the battle of Ice. Then he'll be called to the wall when the WW invade, he marches back and dies fighting the ww.
Brienne could be merged with Abel and the hooded man. She might even get caught by the Boltons (just like Abel did). They could kill her at the end of this season. A possible scenario: she helps Sansa and Theon escape, the Boltons are chasing them, she decides to stand and fight to buy Sansa & Theon some time to escape. Sansa and Theon jump, Brienne gets a heroic death.

I agree with you about the Stannis death. He will live to sit on the Iron Throne or he will die fighting Others. But I don't think dying in Battle of Ice is an option. That is like Dany dying in Battle of Meereen. |
