Whaa...? I just found out that the Evangelion series is going to be on Netflix. If you guys haven't seen it, I highly recommended checking it out once it's on Netflix. It's a classic, and it's gonna be a huge wild ride.

It's a classic, and it's gonna be a huge wild ride. This show is a classic but there's a bit of controversy as Netflix is apparently redoing the English dub with an all new cast. Fans of the 90s dub are upset that the original voice actors weren't brought back to reprise their roles. I have no judgment for people that prefer dubs, but in this instance I would suggest people watch the subbed version first until we know more about the quality of the new dub. Excellent series though, for sure

NGE's original english dub have terrible voice acting and especially terrible script that derails from the Japanese's.

Attack on Titan is a prime example of subversion/adaptation done right. I'm impressed by how true they've been to the source material so far, especially considering how big the revelations in this series are... Big spoilers for the latest episode! Dunno if anyone on here has read the Manga, but the anime is now getting into the series best arc. No spoilers, but it only gets better from here...

Here's a little wall of text of my anime adventures lately: The Rising of the Shield Hero is ending next week, sadly, but it's been a fantastic season. I've never watched an anime as it airs, so it's going to be weird not having a bank of episodes to watch. I highly recommend it to anyone who likes isekai anime. I think I might up my weeb level and read the manga because I love the story and characters so much. I think it's my favourite anime, definitely top 2 with Re Zero. Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba is also very good. As the name implies, it's about killing demons. The art style is beautiful. That Time I Got Reincarnated As A Slime is pretty good, but I got burnt out on it around episode 20.. It's just so 'samey' in each episode, it feels like it's been forever since the plot actually advanced past 'let's kill some monsters'. I think I'll start Black Clover next, maybe Goblin Slayer. DaveyJoe you mentioned the latter before, is it good? I mentioned it before, but Re Zero got announced for a Season 2! Finishing my rewatch of that currently, now the English dub is out I tried watching it in English but I'm so used to the Japanese voices of the characters that they just sound wrong. I highly recommend Re Zero - the first episodes are sometimes a bit hard to get through as not much happens, but once you get to episode 3 or so it gets good. Maybe I'll try Attack on Titan again - I finished Season 1, but I only got a few episodes into Season 2 before dropping it. I did like season 1, not sure why I stopped the second season.

Neon Genesis Evangelion was trending before cause how the new subs turned out to be shits Just finished on The Rising of Shield Hero. It was okay. The beginning was great, especially episode 4 with the male lead's character and his relationship with the raccoon girl. But later on the story sort of became a drag with the dialogue and combat not going anywhere it just boring except the ending. With that being said, I'm glad anime is stepping up their game with a particular waifu material... Not into isekai, but I admit to being into this for the "plot". Even though i'm straight, i want to see more milf in anime. They need more love.

Zadeth, Goblin Slayer is a very good action/fantasy show if you can get past the first episode. The first episode includes some sexual violence that is hard to watch. It does a good job establishing the goblins as a serious threat which makes future encounters with them all the more suspenseful. So be warned that the first episode is a doozy, but the rest of the series is much more digestible. I thought the show had good world building and animation, and I really liked the character interactions and development as Goblin Slayer evolves from a loner to working with a party. I think I will buy the series if/when it gets a BluRay release.

Yeah, I don't hate her as much as a lot of other fans seem to, but I get why people don't like her. The whole "Gabi is meant to be younger Eren" is a little too on the nose. Still, she's at least starting to come around to the idea that not all the people on the island are evil, and she only really knows what she's been told to believe, I just don't know why it took so long for us to reach that point when the main cast have already showed us that fact time and time again.

It had great action and world-building. It reminded me of Dark Souls, a dark, violent fantasy adventure. I think if/when it is released on bluray I'll go ahead and purchase it.

That's exactly why I dislike her, because it feels like a rehash that we definitely didn't need. I get her purpose, but they should've made her less Eren-like. I want more than anything for Mikasa to stop being so obsessed with Eren lol.

When DaveyJoe got into Goblin Slayer before Berserk.

When DaveyJoe got into Goblin Slayer before Berserk. I'm somewhat familiar with Berserk but I haven't watched it because the opinions seem to be very mixed among anime fans. I've read that the animation is very poor and the crew/director are inexperienced and couldn't handle such an ambitious project so the series failed to live up to the manga. So I've been for hoping for a Full Metal Alchemist Brotherhood situation where the show gets redone in a more satisfactory way. However, I've read that Dark Souls, my favorite video game series, is heavily influenced by Berserk so I like to think a Berserk anime would be right up my alley if do e properly.
