I fucking came. Love that FFXII is basically Star Wars, it has the same character archetypes. Balthier and Fran are Han and Chewie and their airship Strahl is the Millenium Falcon. Vaan is Luke, Princess Ashe is Princess Leia and Gabranth and the other Archadian Judges are Darth Vader. Even the story is basically the same, it's all about fighting against the evil Empire.

Freaking Anita Sarkeesian is at it again, shitting all over BioShock Infinite. Seriously, I can't stand her. She's making up facts to fit her narrative, I doubt she's even played half of the games she's criticizing, Jesus Christ.

I have probably said it too many times, but I love this game. Such an underrated Final Fantasy. It looks so beautiful in the remaster as well. This entire trailer is basically one big nostalgia trip. Seriously considering buying a PS4 if they don't port this. Freaking Anita Sarkeesian is at it again, shitting all over BioShock Infinite. Seriously, I can't stand her. She's making up facts to fit her narrative, I doubt she's even played half of the games she's criticizing, Jesus Christ. Of course she hasn't played the game. If she did, she'd realise that Elizabeth is basically the one who kept Booker alive through the entire thing. Is there a point where those health packs didn't come in helpful? Hell no. It's sad that such a great game has to get dragged down into an arguement that it has nothing to do with.

Is there a point where those health packs didn't come in helpful? Hell no. It's sad that such a great game has to get dragged down into an arguement that it has nothing to do with. Yeah, it's so dumb. Elizabeth is one of the most beloved and well-written video game characters in recent memory. BioShock Infinite is basically her story, she gets so much more characterization than Booker, not only in the main game, but in the DLC as well. The game itself is an FPS though, so of course Booker will be the one taking out the enemies, not her. He's a war hero and gun expert, she is a young woman who was raised in a tower in complete isolation. But how does this make her a weak character or a damsel or whatever ... she's so much more memorable than Booker. What exactly is Sarkeesian even criticizing here? And yes, Elizabeth is wearing a corset ... because the game takes place in 1912 and a lot of women wore them back then. The horror. I also hate how she dismisses the entire story of Infinite as garbage because it shows that under certain circumstances, oppressed people can be just as bad as their oppressors, which is not really what the story is about anyway. The story is about revolution. It shows that war is always ugly, even if you have a noble cause, even if your side is in the right. Daisy Fitzroy and her Vox Populi were not the villains in the story, the villains were clearly the religious nuts white supremacists. But in her quest for vengeance, Fitzroy and her people took it too far, they didn't care at all about innocent civilians. Revolution is always bloody ... and it's not like this is something that has never happened in real life history. I genuinely dislike Sarkeesian, I think she's just con artist, nothing more.

I've made the same arguement for Vaan in FFXII, yes they're not the most interesting character, but the point is to introduce the player as someone who is unfamiliar with the schemes of the story. You can't introduce them as Balthier, Basch or Ashe because each of those characters knows too much about the main plot that it takes away from the character learning these things at the same pace as the player. In the same way here, Booker has subconciously created this story in his mind about saving the girl and wiping away the debt. If you weren't playing as Booker, the entire story falls apart as anyone who played up until the end can tell you. And the whole point about the Vox Populi like you said is that revenge and desire for power corrupts. A bloody rebellion, no matter how good the intial intentions will always seek to assert itself in the power vaccum. Just like in real life. Besides, need it even be pointed out that Booker became Comstock for pretty much the same reasons? Power corrupts. Simple as. Stuff like this is ridiculous. If you try and look for sexism or anything like that in any form of media, you're going to find it, because you're actively trying to fabricate it. There are clearly sexist games, but Bioshock is the least among them.

Witcher 3 is just one of those games that really nails it's comedy elements.

I just finished my FFX playthrough. This game has such a beautiful ending, and I don't mean just the ending cutscene, but the final battle leading up to it as well. Especially the part where you have to defeat Yuna's Aeons one by one, and how the Aeons ask you to kill them, and each time you defeat one, there is so much pain and grief in Yuna's eyes. It's so well done, and it's really hard not to love and admire Yuna in that moment. I also love that the battle theme is a variation of the Song of Prayer. The track is called A Contest of Aeons, which is kind of a weird and ironic name, but I like it. If Final Fantasy X was turned into a TV show, the last episode has to be called A Contest of Aeons, that would be absolutely perfect. Yuna's last words in the game always get me. "Just one more thing. The people and the friends that we have lost, or the dreams that have faded ... never forget them." Final Fantasy X is a beautiful masterpiece.

You should really give them a go though if you get a chance, as the whole series has an incredible narrative overall and there are so many little details that really come together once you play the series.

Can't wait to see what they do with this scene in the FFVII remake. This is in my opinion the saddest scene in the entire game, even sadder than Aeris' death. Seto's petrified body shedding tears and Nanaki howling at the moon, that always destroys me. And the fucking music.

I foolishly underestimated how lore-rich the game would be. I mean, even the in-game glossary of characters which I'm having to use extensively is practically in a different language. "The Wild Hunt was in truth an elite cavalry brigade from the world of the Aen Elle, the Alder Folk, and was commanded by their ambitious and ruthless king, Eredin Bréacc Glass" "Emhyr var Emreis, Deithwen Addan yn Carn aep Morvudd - the White Flame Dancing on the Graves of his Foes. Emperor of Nilfgaard, lord of Metinna, Ebbing and Gemmera, sovereign of Nazair and Vicovaro" I'm sitting here trying to read this stuff like

I did not realize I had The Witcher 2. I should get around to playing them...

Playing Arkham Origins!!!!!! Swooning. Also this is two weeks late but Anita Sarkeesian is TRASH. I think City is my favourite. Even if gameplay-wise Knight is mostly better, I love the story. In Origins I hated having to keep flying over the same long fucking bridge every time I wanted to get to the other side. It got very repetitive. But still ... that Deathstroke fight was made in heaven.

The snowy city and the soundtrack and the expanded open world. And the boss fights and the storyline are easily the best in the series IMO. The atmosphere is perfect. God I just love it lol. I would sell organs for an Origins remaster.

I've talked it up a few times before. This looks fucking amazing. Is it only on PS4?
