They could have benefitted from cutting most if not all episodes by 10-15 minutes I think. Especially some of the middle episodes. The tape aspects of some episodes was just too thin to stretch an hour (like Zack and Marcus. I don't mean anything about the severity of what they did, just it's hard to fill an hour with their tape). I thought it was very good overall. It's problems were the pacing as you said, and some of the dialogue being a bit weak. Some dialogue was hilariously accurate though. "What's the male gaze?" "We don't know, but we think you have it." It's also really good how the tone of the show changes the closer the tapes come to Hannah's suicide. They start off as upsetting but in a kind of typical teen drama way and evolve into full blown desperation and trauma. I agree with that. I think each episode could've been around 45 minutes instead of an hour. Black Mirror manages to do a ton with that amount of time. I liked that too, I can see why they show changed the order of the tapes for that affect. I guess Clay was earlier in the tapes in the book than he was on the show. I can't believe the girl playing Hannah is Australian. Her American accent is awesome. I thought all the actors did a great job, though Hannah was the strongest performance. And I had no idea she was Australian either. Fun fact, the guy playing Zach, the douchey jock who bullies Hannah in 13 Reasons Why, also plays Reggie, the douchey jock who is a dick to Archie in Riverdale On the subject of accents from that general area, all of you go watch i, Zombie now (though Rose McIver is NZ not Aus)

Finally got a chance to watch last week's Feud. I know I sound like a broken record but Jessica Lange needs to win an Emmy for this. I could see Stanley Tucci getting a nod to. I like how it showed us some crazy crawford this week. Needs more Bette/Susan, tho. It's obvious that this is Crawford/Lange's show.

She is doing fascinating work as Joan Crawford and should win an Emmy. That category is going to be tight this year and the one to watch...besides her, Sarandon is probably going to be nominated, Witherspoon and Kidman will be nominated for Big Little Lies and Oprah will probably get a nod for the Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks. I do agree I would like to see some more Bette. Stanley Tucci was excellent this past episode. I will forever love Mamacita. When I watch a new episode of Feud, I am always looking for the historical context for each episode (like Hedda Hopper's health problems, Aldrich's divorce, Background on the movie that became Hush Hush Sweet Charlotte). Supposedly season 2 of Feud is going to focus on Charles and Diana...I hope they can keep up this quality with that.

Apparently the issue of Joan doing porn was never solved. She denies it, but apparently at some point, her studio MGM had to hire the mob to confront blackmailers. But this series made a clear choice that it does in fact exist. Literally all I know about Charles and Diana is that she died and my mom cried when she found out haha.

I hate the obsession people have with Charles and Diana. Mostly because the people who seem obsessed with Diana over here are the scummy racist arse holes who read the Daily Mail and believe an unelected sovereign should triumph over Parliament, that the Queen has actual power herself these days, and that we should go back to the heyday of the British Empire when we were strong and oh yeah those pesky immigrants were in their rightful place.

Notice the key qualifiers being "most people" and "over here" I didn't mean to dig at anyone in this thread, it's just that the reverential attitudes towards the Royal family among some of the British Public troubles me Edit: second time recently I've been unintentionally meaner in a post than I wanted to be

My mom is an American yoga instructor so her opinion is pretty much irrelevant anyways.

I didn't realize Hedda was as old as she is...she was born in 1885, so if this is taking place right now between 1962-64, she's in her 70's! I did read up on the porn about Joan, you are right, it's never been settled at all. RE Princess Diana: the night of her accident, my Mom was all like, she better not die but it doesn't sound good. I went to bed and she wakes me up at 2am, crying, Diana has died. But then the next day she was like, it's sad but at least JFK, Jr. is still alive...2 years later...she's all I am totally done with Earth.

I started watching Thirteen Reasons Why on Netflix and it's way better than i expected. It's surprising cuz the show was based off a YA novel and as someone who hates the genre, i have little faith in adaptations being good. But the tv show actually exceed my expectation in terms of the story and acting. In fact i think it's way better than the novel (i read it, but find it personally mediocre despite the subject). I just finished 13 Reasons Why. That was...uncomfortable viewing. (It was well done though. It's not supposed to make you feel comfortable. But damn. Not prepared for it emotionally.) I totally agreed. The show makes me actually feel for Hannah unlike how i felt towards her in the book. The show done a great job exploring Hannah's mentality throughout her bullying. I especially love her suicide scene the most. I love how they didn't romanticized her suicide. I felt uncomfortable and painful when i watched that scene. I was emotionally traumatize when her parents discovered her in the bath. And Clay... I just want to hug the guy. P.S Fuck Bryce and Courtney. They need to get their ass kick really seriously.

My brother is pressuring me to watch 13 Reasons Why (which is called 'Tote Mädchen lügen nicht' in German, which means Dead Girls don't lie). I didn't plan on watching it, but now I feel like I have to.

I'm glad that show is a hit. It's really worth watching, it's such easy entertainment, and the latest episode was hysterical. It does a good job balancing plot and humour and never gets too serious. Plus, the cast clearly loves their jobs, and it shows in their acting. Enid www.indiewire.com/2017/04/crazy-ex-girlfriend-season-2-rachel-bloom-performance-emmys-1201802562/ (Donna Lynne's 'Maybe this dream' is outstanding, if you watch anything watch that one). Feud is as strong as ever. I will be very sad when this over. Charles and Diana doesn't interest as of now. I'll wait to see the casting. The next few seasons of American Crime Story that they've announced sound very interesting. The Lewinsky Scandal? Sign me the fuck up.

Anyone watch the premiere episode of season 10 Doctor Who?
I thought it was the best episode of the Capaldi era and I really, really like the new companion Bill.
I hope the writing quality keeps up. Capaldi is pitch perfect as the twelfth doctor but the writing for his doctor has been subpar.
