Omg, Kellyanne and Spicer sketches were hilarious.
And McKinnon as Warren was awesome. "My Fitbit says check engine."
Was it just me or did they seem to use quite a few lesser cast members this week?

Last night wasn't a good episode. Liked the cold open, weekend update was okay (I love Vanessa's young news reporter  ), but the rest was sort of bland and the writing very lazy. Like the Zoo-opolis skit. It was such a lazy way to shoehorn in some impressions. I do like Melissa though, and she is good with impressions. So I hope they use her more often. Her Wiig and McKinnon impressions   Also, did they only use Kate in the cold open? That surprised me. Guess they are trying to give the newbies more screentime, which makes sense. |

This sketch was great. Glad they didn't shirk from showing Ivanka negatively - she can profess to be liberal but she's not immune from criticism for tacitly condoning her father's actions and words.
More generally, Scarlet Johansson was a great host, as always. Really liked the Funeral sketch and the one about the lesbian house. Some of the sketches were pretty awful but overall better than last week. They featured Kenan quite prominently too this week

Yeah I don't no understand how it works either. I assumed weeks they missed were for holidays at first but that's obviously not the case. Maybe it's to accommodate the cast and crew taking holidays and/or working on other stuff?
They posted a list of the hosts in the coming weeks. I seem to recall Fallon and McCarthy were on that list. Ugh, Fallon
edit: yep. Louis CK, Jimmy Fallon, Chris Pine, Melissa McCarthy, and Dwayne Johnson closes the season

Today I spent like five hours watching SNL clips. I don't know what's real anymore. That was what happened to me when I first started watching it's so addictive once you get caught. I watch clips from loads of different years but imo the best cast was when you had Wiig, Hader, Armisten, etc. On the show. Not only were they great cast but the writing and character creation was so strong too. The writing is not so good now, imo, and they have fewer memorable characters. The most memorable ones are mostly Kate McKinnon's, like the Whiskers'R'We lady and Shiela Sauvage. The Californians makes me laugh all the time. Seeing the cast break is the best. This is one of the most hilarious breaks I've seen:  Melissa McCarthy is one of my favourite hosts, she's always hilarious |

Kristen Wiig, where have you been all my life? I luv her! She was well loved on the show too. Her final episode they closed with a sort of farewell for her. She's hosted twice since she left, both times she's been hilarious |
