No fucking words, guys. It was phenomenal. Really hard to gather my thoughts right now, I just finished and there is so much on my mind, so many things I loved about this season, so many scenes and characters. Not only did it live up to my hype, it absolutely surpassed it. The last two episodes in particular had me sobbing basically the entire time. Once again, Winona stole the show acting wise. I love her so much, she plays that character with such vulnerability and inner strength. Her love for her sons knows no bounds. Eleven reuniting with Mike and the boys made my heart melt, as did the scene between her and Hopper in the car. One of the things I enjoyed the most this season was definitely the relationship between El and Hopper, it was so beautifully done. Really loved what they did with Steve's character, too. I didn't really care about him all that much in Season 1, but they gave him more depth, and made him incredibly funny and likeable. Loved the way he genuinely grew fond of Dustin, that was an awesome dynamic between these two. Speaking of Dustin, he is still the best! Every single one of his scenes was gold, that little dude is going places. Nancy was the MVP of the final episode for dancing with him when the other girls rejected him, it broke my heart when he started to cry. He even made his hair to look dashing and everything! Little Steve in the making. RIP D’Artagnan. Really the only thing I did not like about this season was Max's stepbrother. I liked Max, I think she's a great addition to the group, but her brother was an insufferable douchebag. Not sure why they included him at all, there was so little purpose to his character it seemed. RIP Bob. That Mike & El kiss at the end, though. I watched it by myself today, I'm gonna rewatch it on Sunday with Daniel. And I can't wait. One of the best seasons of any television show I've ever seen. This could have been the final season of Stranger Things, and I would have been happy.

ep 5 Ok yeah I'm only finished episode 5 but I saw this going this way at the beginning when the Smoke thing entered Will (to kill the Demigorgon we'll have to kill Will - which is what I'm assuming will happen).
If it follows the way Torchwood: Children of Earth panned out, it'll be a good series.

I finished the season and i absolutely loved it. It's much better than the first season. Dustin is such a cutie pie and he's more adorable in this season. Especially in the last scene with the school dance. I'm very glad that Eleven survived this season. She deserve a happy ending after all the stuff she was put through. And her reunion with Kali and Mike are the best. I'm really looking forward to her meeting Kali again in the future seasons. There are some story between them that is unresolved. RIP Bob And Mew (poor kitty got replaced) The only storyline i dislike in this season is Jonathan and Nancy's. The story where both of them going to the lab and meeting the investigator. I feel like the purpose behind it is to drive the romantic tension between them and that what makes the story line underwhelming. Remove it and it won't change much to the story.

Guys, make sure to watch Beyond Stranger Things once you've finished the season. It's so much fun to see the Duffers interact with all the actors, especially the kids. They talk about some super interesting behind-the-scenes stuff. Really hope the Hollywood success thing doesn't swallow these kids up and ruin them, they're so sweet and funny. Also the Duffer bros are like ridiculously attractive.

I've finished the season now. Overall it was great. I'm getting pretty sick of this 'Will survives everything' bit. The actor has definitely improved since season one, but the constant saving of him is getting tedious. I honestly they went down the route of Torchwood in that Joyce had to choose to sacrifice Will to save the world. Winona would have rocked the shit out of that, although her acting this season was 10/10 once again. The actress who played Max was fantastic. I love how the casting director has found a really good selection of child actors - usually I cannot stand them, but all of the kids are great. I am so glad Barb got justice. The picture of Supernerd Bob that Will drew Lucas' sister was so funny. I am glad to see little Tews, Dustin's mum is so cute Steve and Dustin's friendship was not expected but they work so well together. I really like what they did with his character this season.

Winona would have rocked the shit out of that, although her acting this season was 10/10 once again. I'm actually really glad that Will survived. I'm getting sick of TV shows killing off characters in every other episode as the ultimate form of drama. It denies the viewer a cathartic release and leaves them unfulfilled - at least that's how I often feel with these kinds of shows. Stranger Things puts its characters through hardship, but they always come out on top at the end, and I honestly love it for it. If Will had died, that would have robbed us of the absolutely beautiful season finale we got, where the kids were dancing at the Snow Ball. The entire atmosphere of the series would have shifted from a relatively light hearted horror adventure, to some super depressing stuff revolving around a beloved character losing her son whom she loved more than anything else in the world, and possibly totally breaking down as a result. I for one am glad they didn't go there. And yet, even though everyone but Bob survived, this one season of Stranger Things made me feel more than all seasons of The Walking Dead combined.

Amazing season. This is how you do character development. I felt like I learned so much more about each character (sans Mike, who got the most development last season) You can definitely tell they got a higher budget, the SFX looked amazing, especially in that last episode with Eleven and Hopper closing the gate.
I'm glad Nancy and Jonathan are now a thing. I don't care if it's rushed or cliche, JANCY FOR LIFE BITCHES!
I actually ended up liking Steve so much this season. I haaaaated him in S1 so much, but I love his dynamic with the kids and how he stepped up as a babysitter. That was wonderful.
Sean Astin was a nice addition and I'm sad to see him go. I wondered early on if he was some type of plant and he was only with Joyce to spy on Will, but I'm glad that's not the case and he was just a nice, goofy guy. He got a worthy death scene.
Max is a lovely addition to the group too, the actress may not be as strong as the rest of them but I think she'll get there.
Mike and Eleven kissing at the dance was adorable. Aww young love.
There are three complaints I have for the season overall. I'll start with the petty one.
1) Mike was such a dick to Max. I get he was upset about Eleven being gone and seeing this girl triggered him, but he continued to be douchey towards her even after El came back. Then we never got an apology scene, which I felt was needed. It really got to me how shitty she was being treated.
2) Billy. I expected him to have something huge to do with the story the way they were ominously writing him, and it ends up he's just a dick because his dad hits him? Come on. What a waste of time.
3) Episode 7. I think Scott Gimple has ruined bottle episodes for me for life. I get why they did this. I think learning about Eleven's past was necessary, but it did not need to be an entire episode in the middle of the climax. The placement was so bad. I think they should've cut out all of Kali's idiot friends, and just have Eleven meet her. Keep her supportive (because I did like that aspect) and just have her teach Eleven a few things in short scenes throughout the episode. Not all at once. It was too jarring and poorly done . ETA: One more thing, media and Emmy voters tend to group the boys all as one and separate Millie and only praise her acting. That definitely needs to stop after the performance Noah Shnapp gave this season. He was phenomenal. All the kids were, but he especially had to do a lot of really difficult scenes, and I hope he gets proper accolades for it.

HAVent finished yet, just watched episode 6 (I think?). Few stray observations: I think it was a misstep to open on the car chase as they did. From the thumbnail for the next episode it looks like the other girl (6?) will show up there but it does feel a little strange to introduce someone right at the start of the season then not revisit them for 6 episodes. I love what they have done with Nancy and the guilt over Barb and OMG that dinner scene where they were talking of selling their house to hire a decent PI crine. DUSTINS MAM IS THE GUARD FROM OITNB AND SHE IS FUCKING PERFECT IN THIS OMG ITS SAMWISE THE BRAVE (yes I know it’s the guy from the Goonies but after spending months analysing that film for an “intro to media studies” project in 2008 I mostly try to forget it now) Dustin and Steve’s heart-to-heart And haircare advice I still don’t like Nancy/Jonathan This cast is phenomenal especially for such young actors. I don’t want them to grow up but, the burgeoning feelings as they approach puberty (I.e. the introduction of Max) was really well done). Mike’s parents really are the fucking worst Also, bravo to Lucas’ little sister. I aspire to her levels of petty sassiness The sequence where Eleven sees what her mother went through was incredible! Steve

i actually don't know what to say. When i was watching the season i was never bored, but at the same time wasn't completely blown away by it either. I thought the acting was really good from the children this season, especially Will (from the younger ages) and Steve (from the older kids). I also found Max incredibly likeable on first impression, and i was so confused why everyone is being such an asshole to her. It looked like she was one of their 'party' by the end though and that was nice. I knew that Nancy and Jonathon were in love last season, and that ultimately Steve would be left out. I think i like that Nancy didn't take so long to figure that out and we didn't have 4 seasons of a love triangle like a bad 80s soap opera. I was happy to see the tension between Steve and Billy paid off, with their final fight. I found Max's brother Billy extremely douchey and unlikeable, like i couldn't stand him all throughout the season (although apparently he is Australian and he is kinda cute). I knew their had to be something up with Max's parents, and although him being abused by his father doesn't excuse his behaviour, season 3 i think it will head for a redemption or add greater depth to the character. The scene between Billy and Michael's mum was weird as fuck and i hope that's not foreshadowing, although it would be great because michael's dad has to be my most hated character on this show. What an absolute twat. As for Steve, he became a quick favourite, exhibiting very grown up qualities; letting the thing with Nancy go to look after the kids and the bigger threat, and not making a big deal of the fact that Nancy never loved him, lead him on and never really gave him closure. Go Steve! And he has very nice hair Steve taking Dustin under his wing was heartwarming I actually didn't hate episode 7. Everyone is saying it was terrible and horribly placed - yet imo there was no other place for it. I loved expanding the world, and eleven trying to find out who she is and understand this concept of 'home' that she could never grasp before. It is the episode that leads her to her true 'home' where she finally understands the meaning and decides to save her friends. The experience she had with Eight allowed her to channel that anger and close the gate. It was heartbreaking to get the story of Eleven's mum as well, the bond that developed between Hopper and Eleven was really nice. I really liked Bob, i mean at first he was lame and i pitied him because it was obvious Joyce didn't love him and he was living out some highschool fantasy of being with the cool girl. But Bob was smart and he was a good guy. I think Sean Astin did a great job there. (i knew a good actor like him could only be on the show for one season though. RIP Bob ) Noah Schnapp was amazing. I wasn't totally into Winona at times, and i think some of her lines were bad, but she was definitely believable as a overbearing and protective mother (for good reason). The ending really closed most things off. I definitely thought that should have been the end of the series as a whole and i would have been satisfied. I really hope this is a series they don't drag out too long that it gets really repetitive.

I'm only up to episode 5...so take these thoughts as they are right now...
I identify with Dustin's mom. Honestly, I'm probably raising little Dustin's right now...so should there be some extra terrestial/freaky government event happening in my town---I could see my kids sweet talking their way around me.
I'm just where Steve and Dustin joined forces and that was a great scene, I'm glad they have him teaming up with the kids because I could care less about the teenage angst.
The scenes with Eleven and her Mom & Eleven and Hopper are gold.
Young actor who plays will is doing fantastic. Though Season 3 should be Will Byers has a good day.
